I am a Daughter of a Union Veteran of the Civil War. My Great Great Grandfather, John Delong fought in the Civil War. I am unable to find his grave. He died in Spencerville, Ohio on June 17, 1895 at the age of 84. I volunteer at the Grand Rapids, Michigan Home for Veterans.
I am an United States Air Force Veteran.
Also I am the secretary for the Grand Rapids Civil War Round Table. And I am a director on our newly formed group, Friends of Michigan Veterans' Homes. We raise money for the little extras for our Vets in the Homes.
It is hard for me to pass a cemetery without stopping. Lucky for me, my husband has the same interests.

OMG! You are so right! I had been researching all day on someone else and my mind must have been too tired to see the details past the same name. Sorry to have bothered you with this. Thanks for all you do on behalf of veterans and for Find a Grave. My dad was a veteran and all the men in my family have served in past wars including the Civil War and even Revolutionary War. I am in awe of the body of work you have accomplished!

I know you have a photo of John's marker-but for some reason it isn't showing up on his memorial. It's a blank "photo" with the red X in the upper left hand corner. Could you remove it and reload it? I can't remove your picture-you'll have to do it. Thank you. | | | nancy robison

Yes, FindAGrave has a box for maiden names. But by putting Eva Lucille Bond "Kenyon" Mowen, as you had it, would indicate Bond as a middle name, and not a married name. Her children, who are Bonds, may not have located her as it was.
