I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date my dad and I have visited over 1,860 cemeteries and have found the gravesites of over 36,400 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 8,900 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the gravesites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the gravesites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any gravesites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.|

No problem! I an happy to help you. There are several more open requests there at Larwill, but there is very little information to go on. There are a number of headstones that are unlegable and that is a challenge too.

You are quite welcome.
I noticed you placed 'flowers' on Civil War veterans in Shiloh Cemetery in Montgomery County. Elijah Zachary was my husbands great-great grandfather. Thank you!
You are probably aware of this but there is one Confederate buried there, James Patterson.
We will be going out more to take photos, so do not be surprised if we load up more.

You are welcome, His original headstone was unreadable and was removed and only abt a fourth was left. I made the one in the picture for him and for many others in the same condition as his.
|Tami||James and Minerva Carpenter|
Hi there- I saw the memorials for James and wife Minerva Carpenter buried in Warsaw, IN in the Oakwood Cem (#34010540 and 68801012) and wondered if you knew of his wife Minerva's maiden name? I thought I would check out his Civ War file through the archives, to see if it listed. I am wondering is she is Minerva Carpenter, born 1831, daughter of Royal Carpenter of Franklin Co. Ohio, and Rosey Thompson. She may be the Minerva I have been searching for! Many of the Franklin Co. Ohio records were burned so I have little to go on and have been searching the Carpenters for 30 years. Minerva sort of disappeared by the time her mother died in 1831, and her father Royal married a second time to Temperance Ayers.
Would appreciate any info you might have on the family of James and his wife -
