|I am originally from North Carolina, but after 23 years in the U.S. Air Force I retired from Langley AFB in Virginia and settled there. It took about 16 years of living in or temporary duty in places like Texas, Colorado, California, Germany, Missouri, Alaska, Arizona, and Jordan to be stationed on the East coast.|
When my daughters were in elementary school they had a small genealogy project and I was embarrassed that I could not help them with my family tree. In 2009, I started doing research and what I learned in a fairly short period of time hooked me for life. Of the Johnson line my 2nd Great Grandfather was in the Civil War; his father - my 3rd Great Grandfather was in the War of 1812; and his father - my 4th Great Grandfather found himself in the Revolutionary War a short time after arriving from Scotland. If and when I have Grandchildren I can't wait to tell them where they are from!
I got hooked on Find-A-Grave when I discovered a picture of a grave marker that some kind member of Find-A-Grave had input for the brother of my grandfather that died in the Civil War (both brothers served together). I started chasing my ancestors down recording their graves, and slowly branched off to photographing entire cemeteries in order to give back to others.
You may use pictures that I have added to Find-A-Grave freely without having to contact me, I do ask that credit be given to me if the pictures are used anywhere else. I feel that is the right thing to do.
If you'd like me to fix any of the records that I maintain ... please click on the "Edit" button on the top right of the record, click on "Suggest a Correction" .. Enter your note and/or correction and I'll fix them as quickly as possible.
When requesting a transfer use the edit tab on the memorial and follow the below from F-A-G. Or the request will be ignored.
From F-A-G, "Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made."
Remember to give back to Find-A-Grave, because the item you provide may be the missing link for someone else!

Just want to thank you for giving us a photo of their gravestone. My mom is 90 yrs old and is the sister to David and has never seen his gravestone until today. We live in Utah and it would be impossible for her to make the trip. I think it brought a little closure to her to see where David was put to rest. What a wonderful gift you have given. Thank you very much. Kathy

Rodney, I was delighted to see the markers for my Uncle Bill Hricinak and his wife and in-laws! You do such a service for us all! It is especially crucial that we have dedicated folks like you when a National cemetery is concerned as these veterans are frequently interred far away from their homes and families. I will sing your praises when I add the photos to my trees on Ancestry.

Are you all still adding photos to Hampton National? I remember Ron saying he was done, but noticed you added a picture on a memorial I just added 2 days ago. Just curious.

Thank you for the photo of my grandmother's stone in the Hampton Veteran's Cemetery. Funny thing is, the stone says she served in the US Air Force in WWII, and the story she always told us was that she served in the WAAC - Women's Army Auxiliary Corps - before "Auxiliary" was removed and they became the WACs. Her last husband, who she is buried with, did serve in the Air Force. When she was in her last days and being cared for at the Hampton VA Hospital, on visits we heard staff who didn't know her name refer to her as "the woman" on the floor, because she was the only one there at that time. Thanks for all you do!
