Born in Franklin, IN. Grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida. Returned to Indiana in 1978.

I originally focused on Law Enforcement as a career. I was in Police cadet program in Fort Pierce, FL. I decided I did not enjoy running after people. Corrections would work, they could only run so far... Smiles. Moved to Indiana and switched over to working EMS in early 80's, then Fire-Rescue into 90's. Business owner-operator many years then opted for a slower paced, quality of life type job.

Started working for a Security Company and part-time as a Private Investigator. Currently Township Deputy & Township Investigator for Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. (Former Township Board Member from 1991-2010.)

During the 70s I was shown a cemetery without any stones. Just bases. The family surname was known but nothing more. I feel at least some type of marker should note these sites. Too often stones are removed or damaged.

In Indiana, Township Government is responsible for the care of abandoned cemeteries. One of the first problems we ran into was that we had to find them first. Many were considered "lost". People would remember when there "was" a cemetery located at some forgotten location. The cemeteries were not lost, people just forgot where they were located.

I enjoy looking for the "lost" ones. The WPA in 1937-1939 recorded most all of the cemeteries in our county and I am sure many others. All I had to do is connect the dots. The WPA workers did not have GPS and some of the descriptions of the cemetery locations do not match landscape. That is when it is fun to really look at the terrain. Look for the old paths, image wagons trails, look at the tree lines, look at the section lines. Sometimes if you imagine what it was like back in the 1800' - 1930's you can put the pieces together and locate the "lost" ones.

Once you find a "lost" cemetery and help out the family members searching for relatives, your hooked.
