|The Meriwether Society, Inc.||Trice Family Cemetery #2|
Hello Thomas. We have submitted some edit requests for some of the memorials in this cemetery. Thank you!
|Jerry H. Powell||THomas J. Barker|
Hi Tom . I read your description of The Thomas J. Barker memorial. Find A Grave#75151091. You told me that when you took the photo of his T/S that it was overgrown with bushes and the only one there . The site has been cleaned up and there are 3 known memorials there and three unknown.
Cemetery notes and/or description:
This is a single grave burial place. While it is straight across the road from the Goochland Baptist Church Cemetery, it is shielded from view in the highway by a clump of bushes.
Thanks for your great work Jerry

|Bonnie Anderson||RE: Alpha G. Ring|
Alpha Ring was born on Mar 20 1905 according to the famly bible of his brother Wesley Ring. His parents were Emmett Martin Ring and Jencie Anderson. He was born in Carroll Co. Va. His Father Emmett Martin Ring was a Civil War veteran who passed away around 1910. On the 1910 census Alpha was with Jencie and siblings in the Sulphur Springs District of Carroll Co. In 1920 he is living with a Seay family in Fluvanna Co. and remained with that family thru 1940 census. I spoke with the nephew of Walter Nash Childress who spoke very highly of Alpha. Said he was very lean and athletic with dark skin and a very hard working quiet man. Alpha is mentioned in his mothers obituary in the Galax Gazette Archives. She died in 1952 but his name is listed as Alvin George Ring who lived in Columbia, Va. so they must have kept in touch somehow. I don't know how he got to Fluvanna, Va. His nephew is kinda upset about the Find A Grave info so if you change it will you please let me know so I can send him the new info. If you need verification of this I will send it to you. Bonnie

I have information on Alpha G. Ring buried at Corinth Church Cemetery that is well documented. Let me know if you would like to have it so his parents can be listed on his memorial. Thank you for your time. Bonnie

Hello again Thomas,
Once again please accept my apologies for inadvertently, duplicating your memorial.
I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generosity in transferring:
Nancy Bowles "Nannie" Singleton Lacy
to my care. With your help, I have successfully connected her with her parents, two siblings, husband and two of her three children. As I receive more information, I will add it to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,
|Becky Ramsey||RE: Findagrave Photographs|
Thank you for the use of the photos and for your service as well. I was in the Air Force from 1969 to 1972 and then finished a 20-yr career with the Air National Guard.
