Bio and Links
Bio Photo When I was younger, my dad would take us out on Sundays and would point to places that were a part of his childhood. He would also take us to old houses and graveyards and we would read the head stones. My mom and dad would do the math and tell us how old they were when they past away. I can remember feeling sorry for the young ones and would find myself asking mom what happened to them. They would reply that they don't know. I grew to love reading the headstones and have found some interesting ones. I received Christ as my Savior in 1982. I know that physical death is a part of this world, and know that there is a heaven that a person goes on to, if they have received Christ. I also like looking at family trees and I also like to pass on the information that I know, to help others. Joining findagraves allows me to help people find their own history about there families.

I add photo's of people because I want people to see what they look like. Please do not transfer my pictures to another website without permission first..

Thank you for the information on the Beale Cemetery. I will have to try and check that out next time I get down that way. In the meantime, thank goodness for Find A Grave! :)

Beale Family
Hi. First off, thank you for posting to Find A Grave! Secondly, I am researching the Beale family, saw your BEALE memorial and was wondering if you are by any chance working on this family as well. I am seeking information on John Lafayette Beale, born 12/5/1823 and died 6/8/1889. Have been looking for this family for many years but have reached a brick wall. Thank you for your help. RE: Clay Cemetery
It seems like the church was brick and was not really close to 501, but I do not remember how far it was.

James was born about 1862 and died before 1900. He is buried somewhere in what was known as the Black Walnut District of Halifax County. My aunt took me to the church many years ago after a family reunion, but all I can remember is that his grave is near the church building with large trees growing over his grave. That church was on a road off the east side of HWY 501 in the Cluster Springs area.

Fannie (Could be Frances) would have much earlier dates. I could not make out her name on the marriage certificate for James Clay & Lucinda Burton dated 16 Feb 1881. His age was 19. I was chasing a Thomas Jefferson Clay (1833-1893) & Sarah Frances Ambrose (abt.1823-????) as his possible parents. His wife, Lucinda, was the daughter of Henry Burton and her 2nd marriage was to James Thomas Newcomb. They are buried at Oak Level Cemetery.

I am looking my gr-great-grandparents, Jeff & Fannie Clay. My Great grandfather, James Robert Clay, is buried is an unmarked grave somewhere. My grandfather is buried at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, along with a sister and a brother. He was born in News Ferry. I am stuck at this point with my Clay family. All of my family is from Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties.
