Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please visit my new website, Peninsula Genealogy, if you have ties to the Hampton Roads area. I'm documenting obituaries, marriage, birth and death records there, and linking all obits back to findagrave so people can see additional info on their loved ones.

I have been doing my genealogy for over 13 years now. I started visiting the local cemeteries in my area looking for my relatives. By doing that, I realized how much I like to go there and how I enjoy helping others find their relatives. I am willing to do cemetery lookups in my area (Hampton, VA), so email me if need some help. Will also look up obituaries at our local library. I just love to do research!

I am currently transcribing and posting pics of cemeteries around Hampton VA. I have completed most of the smaller cemeteries (less than 1000 graves) and a few larger ones. I'm hoping by doing all this, it will make it easier for many people to find their loved ones.

My maternal grandfathers family was from MA (Mackay, Martin, McGlew, Traill)

My maternal grandmothers family was from VA, NC and PA (Gildner, Broadstreet, May, Bridgland, Smith, Arnold).

My paternal grandfathers family was from WY, NE, WI and SD (Allman, Caddy, Simons, Carberry, Rogers, Stuart)

My paternal grandmothers family was from CA, Washington, DC and OH. (Ehrmantraut, White, Gerhold, Dolph).

My husbands family is from NC and SC. (Orr, Malone, Boone, Clement, Mckay, Stewart, Vaughan Garrett, Hatchell).

Thank you!
Thank you for photographing the grave of Thomas C. Jones at Hampton National Cemetery. Thomas was an Engineer with the US Costal Artillery Corps who died in 1914 at Fort Howard, MD where he was stationed. He left a wife and three young children, one of them my grandfather. I have not had the opportunity to visit his grave.

Calvin Hill - Greenlawn Memorial Park
Sorry to be so long in replying, but my father has been in the hospital.

You had asked for me to call the cemetery office to get the plot location. I just tried and their is no answer, however, I noticed this note on his memorial page:

buried in section 3.

RE: Drummond cemetery, Hampton
I did a map search, a basic info search on the Drummond family via Google, and then contacted the Hampton Historical Society. They were more than helpful, they were able to describe how to get there.

Best directions I can give:

If you're coming in from Mercury Blvd, you'll need to turn left onto Fox Hill Rd. Follow it around, just past Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. On the left hand side is Harris Creek Rd. Continue on Harris Creek Rd for a bit (sorry, mileage I didn't write down). The road will narrow substantially, with marsh on both sides. It is a 2 direction road, but passing can be tight. You're going to turn right on Finn's Point Lane. It is a dirt road, and I believe there are No Trespassing signs posted. You're going to see a small house on the right, with a trimmed lawn, and well maintained trees. Stop in there, that's the gentleman I've spoken to before. Just let him know you'd like to see the Cemetery. He's very helpful, and can tell you quite a bit about some of the different burials (many have no name).

Hope that helps.

Re: John Allison Maddox Memorial #88171021
Hello Dawn,
I received a message concerning a photo request for my relative, John Allison Maddox, from you today. There is a grave marker already on John's memorial, that Ron Stewart placed there in April. However, it only has John's first name and middle name on the marker. I wanted to know if there is a "Maddox" family marker also located at the gravesite for John and his wife?? I put a note with my photo request, specifiying that I wanted to know about the family marker?
Thanks for getting back to me at your earliest convenience.

You want her linked to her husband Stewart C. Snyder (1925-19940)?

In her obituary it says she is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis Simons.

Please clarify.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

RE: Blick corrections
Thank you for your quick response and information. I didn't know about the genealogy site for the Hampton area where Aunt Hazel's obituary is listed. Have no idea how wood got on the obit but now see how it originated. Her full name is Hazel Booth Blick Ulke. No, she did not marry a Wood.

I would appreciate it if you could help me with these questions.

How can I get the other children added for Gus and Lula Blick? There were 7 of them including my mother who is buried at Parklawn.

How can I get the incorrect sibling removed? Who do I write?

Thanks, again for your time and effort.

RE: Reginald P Hansford, Jr
The FindaGrave administrators removed all of his garbage from my memorials, after all if you don't care about the integrity of your memorials no one else will.
Have a nice day!!
