My family has been in Loudon County since before Loudon was even a County, dating back to the early 1800's. My relatives must have thought it was important even back then to keep records as I have boxes and boxes of records that I still haven't gone through. I am very proud of my heritage and that I now live in Loudon County.
I have photographed, indexed and cared about every cemetery here in Loudon County since I was a young child.
The photos I take are straight, well lit and READABLE unless the stone is so deteriorated that the naked eye can not read it.
My professional advice to photographers is to take several pictures of the same stone at different angles while trying to keep the sun to your back. Carry a white poster board with you in case you need to reflect the sunlight onto a stone. Then use an editing program to adjust lightness and focus on pictures that need it. Also, PLEASE crop the photo so you don't have all sorts of unneeded space around the stone. Most importantly ... DO NOT chalk or alter the stone itself in any way! Also, it is against Find-A-grave's policy to do so. We will flag the photos for removal if we see any.
I do my best to make sure all memorials are correct by checking birth/death/social security records and obituaries. However, typos and mistakes happen. If I have entered a memorial that you find a mistake, incorrect information or missing information, please feel free to contact me through the EDIT/MAKE A SUGGESTION tab that is on the top right side of every memorial page.
If you have links for parents, children and/or spouses use the EDIT/MAKE A SUGGESTION tab that is on the top right side of every memorial page. You MUST include the relationship, the memorial # which next to the person's name, and the person's name (i.e., Father: John Doe 4128756). I do not link aunts, uncles, siblings, grandparents, etc., unless you provide the full html.
IF YOU DO NOT USE THE EDIT/MAKE A SUGGESTION TAB ALL REQUESTS WILL BE UNANSWERED. Sorry, but I do not have time to search for the correct memorial and member numbers for your requests.
If you would like to use any of my photos please contact me first. Thank you!
My family names: Breeden, Brenz, Cline, Didlake, Durham, Eblen, Hanley, Hartsook, Hickey, Jenkins, Kirkland, Krstich, Lolich, Malone, McCarrell/McCarroll, McRae, Preston, Price, Rambo, Shanks, Shubert, Sims, Walker, Whitlock and many, many more!
I will only transfer memorials if it's within Find-A-Grave's transfer policy. Thank you Asking nicely and not demanding goes a long way ... Just sayin.
