Jonathon, yes we are at least half related! I have RI Greenes in me too so...... This my fathers mothers line. I have a Mathewson( Mathiason) on my moms line too in SC/Ga! It is a hard name to research! I just wonder how find a grave record can give James G. Mathewsons mother and father? I haven't found death records for Rufus, fortunately don't need for the DAR paperwork as he is already listed as a patriot in their database. Just have to link everything up nicely to him! It's been very interesting I have found a lot of information on family search as well as ancestry. It's fun but a time sponge!

James Greene Matthewson. Born 1787, wife. Sybil Waite
Father Rufus Mathewson
Apparently it's a family plot and I did find more information about phone contact so will try that in the morning. I am working on a DAR application for Rufus Mathewson need more vital record documentation. I've seen Mathewson spelled Matteson also!
Thank you for the quick response and I Love that I have seen the gravestones of my grandfathers even if just a photo! Ivy

RE: Deserted Miller Cemetery
Hi, Jonathan,
I was at this cemetery once and that was probably 15 years ago. This is what I wrote down for the location:

Cemetery is also called Murphy's Corners Cemetery and is located in a field behind a house on the corner of State and Franklin Center Roads in Elk Creek or Girard Township.

I remember stopping at the house and asking permission to look for the graves. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I was pretty sure that he had to be his son, as he was not in plain view when I was at school. It is good to know where to find my late headmaster.

Dr Murray P. Brush was the headmaster of my high school in 1946-1948 and of the Tome School before WWII wnhen it was taken over by the Navy as the site of the Cainbridge Naval Recruit Training Center. Is this memorial he, ot his son? Dr. Brush seemed pretty ancient when I knew him, like one of my grandfather's (born 1873) generation.
