I live in Oregon east of Portland and at the mouth of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. My husband and I live across the street from and old Douglass Pioneer Cemetery and that's where we enjoy taking a lot of our walks. We have some of our family, some neighbors and church friends buried there.|
I am enjoying working on our family trees, its hard not to take pictures of other graves, I know what a blessing it is to have help from others as I search to put the pieces together.
I received a picture request and it was a real "Find A Grave".
The person was buried in 1935, I don't know how many years this tree has been growing and still is growing, or if it was planted there or not, but this is something to think about. The tree is about 50-60 feet tall.

Thank you very much I really appreciate your efforts.
I was very young and very poi when I lost my father and I had just moved to Texas a year prior to loosing him.
Would you know who I would need to contact to get him a proper grave stone? It really bothers me he did not get one being a Sargent in the Marines during Vietnam and he was a kind man. Thank you.

Janice - I am glad you can find the grave requested as I don't know the exact location and have been there before and it took hours to find the marker.
Have a good day.
|Mari Mabus||Wilhelmina Klier & John Godfrey Moebus|
Wilhelmina Klier & John Godfrey Moebus were my great great grandparents. Your grear great grandfather George Franklin Dollahon was married to my great aunt Anna Marie Mabus (Moebus)
The Mabus name seems to change from Moebus and Maybeis. I am not sure as to why although my father said it was because they were horse thieves evading the law by changing their name. I am not sure if this story is true or not but I do see the name change through the generations.
When I found the information you had entered on the cemetery web sites it was like finding a pot of gold. I was so excited.
I have a family tree on Ancestry.com named “Mari Mabus family tree” I am trying to record the information you have given however I keep getting confused. I would be so appreciative if you would help me clarify all the spouses and children so that I can add them to my tree accurately.
I look forward to hearing back from you!

I didn't think that they were that great. I'm just now starting Windows 10 and their photo app is hard to use. I want windows 9 back!

Although I know this cemetery quite well, I was unable to find a headstone for Mr. Hall. We searched well beyond the area covered by the description of his location, so I had to conclude that there is no headstone. The foreground of the area photos I uploaded show where his marker should be based on the description. I attached a brief comment to one of the photos. El Toro Memorial Park is really lovely and visited all day long. So sorry I couldn't provide a headstone photo for you.
Thank you for the management transfer!
