Bio Photo A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!

NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

RE: Flower with bio information...
Just a kind question of why would you care that I put bio about his purple heart in the flower section ?

RE: Flower with bio information...
LT Jacob Wilson Parrott Find A Grave Memorial# 19152. It was left today as it was his birthday.

I know the reason for the flower with bio information is to give more information on the person.

By the way, only one flower a day is to be left on a memorial, and I now see you left two flowers with bio information.

[Send Reply] Flower with bio information...
Thought you would want to know that flowers with bio information are deleted. According to the guidelines, this is not wanted on memorials.

Find A Grave memorial #161987518
Hello, Linda-
You put in a photo request for Alfred Weber at Webster Union Cemetery. Since he is not listed in their records, I searched for his obituary and found that he is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY. Cemetery records confirm this. I will be heading there today and will be posting a photo on his memorial page within a couple of days. He does not have a memorial linked to Holy Sepulchre so your changing the cemetery won't cause any conflicts.

Huffman-Koontz Cemetery
Hi Linda,
No. I don't know the procedure for merging duplicate cemeteries.
I have sent email to "" to remove my listing in its entirity - that is Koontz Cemetery on Naked Creek Road (Rt 609) in Page County VA.
Hopefully this will correct the duplication.
Thanks for your help.
