We have dug four to six inches in the ground for some and survived the bushes for others. We have learned together what tools we need to carry besides a camera. We feel it is a way of showing respect for those just found for their family and friends that are to far away to do this themselves. Lisa and I enjoy the time together as well. My obsession started when I returned from Beirut in 1983 (Operation Peacekeeper – U.S.M.C.). Seeing the bodies of those left in the streets is what gave me the passion to do what I can for the families of loved ones here at home. Thus started the beginning of the Wittstruck Memorial Foundation. Some of the stories are indeed sad, but most are uplifting if not funny. The Ship "Main" where of P.H. Haack was the Master (Captain), from Hamburg, Germany weighed 1047 tons. She and her children arrived in DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK on 10 September 1857.Dorothea's Husband:Johann "John" Joachem Wittstruck,Mr. Johann "John" Joachem Wittstruck, was born in 1793 and died 1849, buried in Prussia. John served in the war under Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher against Napoleon Bonaparte from 1813 to 1815, and participated in the battle of Leipzig (Battle of the Nations) 16–19 October 1813, Battle of Großbeeren (23 August 1813), Battle of Belle Alliance (Waterloo) on 18 June 1815, and was one of those who entered with the Victorious Prussian Army into Paris, in 1815, and after the close of the war was discharged.Married in 1818 They were the parents of 14 children.CHILDREN:1) Friderike Dorothea S.
