Hometown of Hammond, Indiana, near Chicago. I now live in Boise, Idaho. I've been a paramedic since 1978, as an EMS provider, manager, educator, and in communications. I've been photographing cemeteries and gravesites for several years. I travel frequently and to many locations instructing emergency medical classes, so am able to photograph cemeteries and graves in many parts of the country and some international locations. I have developed a presentation on the art and symbolism of gravestones and cemeteries which I give through the city's Community Education system and at genealogy/family history conferences, and to various historical groups. I also give historical tours of cemeteries in Boise.|
PLEASE USE THE NEW "EDIT" TOOL THROUGH FINDAGRAVE FOR ANY CORRECTIONS OR ADDITIONS. I AM FREQUENTLY IN PLACES WITHOUT INTERNET ACCESS AND MAY NOT GET TO YOUR REQUESTED CORRECTIONS FOR SOME TIME. BE ASSURED IF YOU HAVE SENT IT I WILL EVENTUALLY GET TO IT. PLEASE BE PATIENT.

Thank you David. Is it something that has been placed recently?

Greetings from Lahti Finland...I take this opportunity to address you in view of the recent email received in view of the photo. Thank you, to begin with, there was a story in the local newspaper about him and his community here in Schumacher, Ont. PON IGO (Northern Ontario Canada). He made a fortune buying and selling mining claims.

His name was McRee, not MacRee as spelled on the tombstone. He was the older brother of Samuel McRee (#9323187), also a graduate from West Point; both were sons of Major Griffith John McRee.
More information on William McRee, including an obituary, can be found in Cullum's Register.
