Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have a strong interest in genealogy, both my own and others, and history in general.

Also, I have come to believe that the documentation created here is an historical record, ultimately of value to future researchers.

Therefore, it is extremely important to be accurate and to include as much verified information as possible, including the correct dates and places of birth of those whom we post to cemeteries.

Linking family members - besides indicating familial relationships - shows the patterns of migration and where families settled in different areas.

It is important to post individuals to the correct cemetery, rather than just creating lists of dead people in order to generate enormous numbers credited to our names.

M. M. Staples
Hello, I see that you maintain the memorial for M. M. Staples in Belleville, Kansas. He lived here in Table Rock, Nebraska (where a son is buried) for a while, and was active in the GAR. There are at least a couple of newspaper items mentioning him as an officer. I have been doing a survey of the Civil War vets buried in our cemetery and ran across them.

I wonder whether you can tell me when he lived in Table Rock?

Staples in Nemasket
Hello- I suspect you're a relative of Lydia and Simeon Staples in Nemasket. Wanted to let you know I've added new pics. I can't believe all these years of planting flowers there that we didn't know my 5x grandparents were almost right behind where we stood! Do now, so we cleaned up the stones and included them this year!

I went to the City Hall and he is listed as Emerick. I will go to take a picture in the near future and post it for you.

RE: Fassett

I apologize for the error. Please send me the Find a Grave # so I can know which memorial you are referring to.

I will be glad to make the correction.

Hi Cynthia,
About a week ago GrannyT transferred Stephen Torrey's Memorial #23102208 to me. In the process of updating this memorial by adding complete dates and sources, I discovered that there was another Stephen Torrey on FindaGrave, your memorial #69079689. GrannyT created her Stephen memorial on Nov. 25, 2007, while yours was created 4 years later on Nov. 29, 2011. Would you please delete your memorial.

Thank you.
