I've been interested in family history since I was a few years old. My grandfather had a book full of our family history, and I read that book forwards and backwards more times than I could count. I decided to try Ancestry last year to store all the information I learned from our family book, and I haven't stopped since!
I spend a lot of my free time in the Winter searching records and scanning photos. In the upcoming warmer months (if they ever get here), I plan on traveling around the state of Michigan to photograph some more cemeteries. As of June 2014, I have visited: Marlette City Cemetery, Indian Fields Township Cemetery, Arbutus Cemetery, Logan Township Cemetery, and East Dayton Cemetery.
I am always researching these family names: Riley, Malsbury, Johnson, Race, Gould, Gantz, Crisman/Chrisman, Findlay, Avery, Wiscombe, Beach, Howe, & Hubble. Most of my ancestors were from Tuscola, Oakland, and Gratiot counties in Michigan.
99% of the memorials I maintain are relatives of mine. If you have any information to add to any of them, I'd love to hear from you! I greatly appreciate all e-mails and edits sent to me!
I have about 3,000 photos of various family members. If a memorial I maintain is full of photos, I probably have even more of them. Just e-mail me and ask, I'll be glad to share them! Feel free to use the photos I have posted for personal use as well. Most of them are my own photos, or were provided for use by a family member. All of my photos are set to public on Ancestry as well.
edward findlay Hi Heather, I am with the Caro Roadhouse Museum in Caro, and we are doing a project in May honoring our Tuscola County Korean War veterans and casualties. Edward is one of the ones I am trying to get more information about for the museum open house. I have only a limited amount of info on all of the gentlemen, but it appears that you might have more than I have so far. We usually set up separate, personal displays for each casualty. Anything loaned to us for the two-day event at the museum is returned to the owner as soon as the event is over. If you have any information or items to add to our knowledge of Edward Findlay, I would truly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks Gail Lesoski
