Past President of the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society (www.mvgenealogy.org) & author of New Copies of Old Records from Hebron CT, 1708-1875 (Heritage Books, 2011) & various articles on New England genealogy.I have transcribed Litchfield County, CT cemeteries from the Hale Collection because I'm looking for 18th Century collateral ancestors in our Birge, Fox, Hatch, Holcomb, Hindman, Hunt, Noble, Peck, Thompson, Wilcox, & Willson lines. If you are related to other families in these cemeteries, let me know & I will transfer ownership of memorials with your surnames to you so you can add information and links. I have many other Connecticut ancestors in central Connecticut cemeteries, where I will also transfer memorials unrelated to our family. Most of my Connecticut memorials are copied from the Hale Collection, which transcribed all Connecticut tombstones during the Depression. The transcription is not error-free, but Hale was able to read things then which are no longer legible today. The New Hampshire entries are all from Colonial Gravestone Inscriptions in the State of NH, by Mrs. Charles Goss (1942). None are close relations of mine, so if you want to make additions or corrections, please just request a transfer. When contacting me about a specific memorial, PLEASE do so from the Edit:Corrections & Queries tab on the memorial itself. This makes it SO much easier for me to respond quickly & accurately.|

Hello, you manage my great grandfather #77045144, Peter Prokop and wife Mary Powaleny. I am hoping you will transfer to me so I can start connecting them to their siblings/children and other immediate family members.

Dear Ms. Mac,
I'm writing to see if you might consider transferring Mary's memorial to me?
She is my 10th great-grandmother and I have been searching for her for a very long time!
Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope you will consider about granting my request.

Thank you for accepting the edits and updating the information of my great uncle James McBirney (83255111). I know that Find-a-Grave is not a full-fledged "family tree" site, but being able to connect him with his other family members means a lot to me. Again, thank you!

Last Spring I wrote to you about an issue with your Town Hill Cemetery submissions for Salisbury, CT. Many of the memorials that have been attributed to Town Hill are actually located at what Find A Grave calls "Center Cemetery. " Locally, "Center Cemetery" is more often referred to as Town Hall Cemetery because it located behind the Salisbury Town HALL (and hence the probable source of the confusion). If you consult the Hale Collection for Salisbury (available on ancestry.com among other places) you can see the separate surveys for Town Hall (618-1) and Town Hill (618-5).
You asked me to send you a list of the incorrect memorials. I am finding it onerous to send you the complete list in this format. As an example, here are 4 names you submitted for Town Hill that have already had other memorials created for them in Center Cemetery:
Acton, Abigail 55167324
Acton, Thomas 55167325
Adams, Alice 55167315
Adams, Zerviah 55167313
These are only a few of the misattributed entries. I recall that there are more than 100.
I would suggest that you delete the Town Hill memorials for folks who have already had other memorials created in Center Cemetery, and correct the memorials that have not yet had memorials created there. If you do not want to do that work yourself, you could transfer your Town Hill memorials to me and I would be happy to make the corrections for you. Please let me know what you intend to do to correct your submissions.

I was adding a photo for Donald Bourdeau and came across two memorials for his wife. There's yours; then there is one with a misspelling in it - Bourdreau, #158349406. I was wondering if you would like to get together with the other creator and decide what to do. I know duplicates can be merged by the Find A Grave administrators too.
Feel free to contact me at email@example.com

Hello Linda, I wanted to thank you for the very kind transfer of my relatives record. I hope you have a great holiday season. Many blessings to you and yours.
|L Evans||RE: Basil swain|
Thanks for writing back... after looking at this today, I think that your record for her is a duplicate, but there is a duplicate for her hubby Richard, to your memorial.... although Mr. Valentine has photos and burial ground information.... I contacted him to make him aware and gave him your Richard's memorial number.... so I will wait till ya'll get it sorted out to change anything on my end with Grace ;)

Thank you for your efforts at transcribing so many graves for genealogists to make use of on Find-A-Grave.
I'm requesting the transfer of memorials for Andrew and Margaret Spielman at St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam, CT.
Andrew's Find A Grave# 84737396
Margaret's Find A Grave# 84736893
If my cousin Andrew Franklin has already asked, please go ahead and transfer it to him.
Thank you so much!
