My interest in genealogy began ten years ago when I started my Family Trees. Most of my relatives are from PA and OH. My research led me to join ROAGK in IA, where I volunteered to help others in their search for information. Since my retirement, I am now dedicating my time to entering information into "FAG". Hopefully some of the information and gravestone pictures will help others in their searches. If you note errors in my entries, please let me know by email and include "FAG" in the subject line. I hope my contributions add to the value of this important site.|
Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.
To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.
Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Thank you, Nancy!
|Dawn R. Fischer||William B. and Grace H. Miller|
Hi, Mrs. Thompson, my name is Dawn Fischer, I live in Uniontown, Fayette County, PA. I found the names of William Brinton Miller and Grace Huston Miller through a search for burials in Fulton County, PA, between 1917 and 1920. I noticed that they were married, and I'm wondering if they had any children. My paternal grandfather, Roy Orville Fischer, was born Roy Orville Miller in Black Oak, Fulton County, PA, in Sept. 1916. He was orphaned sometime before his 4th birthday, and "taken in" by Gilbert and Pearl Fischer, who lived in Wharton Township, Fayette County, PA in 1920; it wasn't an official adoption, as far as anyone in my family knows. In the 1920 U.S. census, Roy is listed as Roy Miller, as a boarder. By the 1930 census, he is listed as Roy Fischer, son. We in my family have no information on my grandfather's birth parents, and when I saw the information on William and Grace, I thought I'd ask. I'll be visiting my local library this week to try to find more info. I thought, well, I have nothing to loose in asking you if you know anything beyond the Millers' death certificates. Thank you. ~ Dawn Fischer

You're welcome glad to help

Thanks for quick response, but I'm looking for a source document. Rootsweb does not give the source of the information that was submitted by a user, other than another tree on ancestry. I've accepted what I could prove. Please resubmit with source document info on what has been declined, as I would like to add the info but need to prove the accuracy first. Thanks!

You sent me edits on Sadie for dates, locations first name Sarah, middle name Bell -- but no source for verification. Would you let me know the sources of the info?
I have found Sadie was used on her marriage license, not Sarah.

Thanks for the heads up re the picture mix-up, Nancy. I, too, have now dropped her a note. She has placed the gravestone picture of my grandmother's grandmother on the page. All she needed to do was look at the picture and read the dates on the gravemarker to realize they were not a match. We really need to be vigilant on this site as this sort of thing happens much too often and people take it for fact.
