Bio Photo Currently on the Board of Directors and acting Registrar of Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, MD. I spent the past 8 years archiving this cemetery -- all 5,506 graves AND researched every person's genealogy so their FindaGrave memorial would be a complete resource for future generations seeking their ancestors.

Thank You. My tree had about 1825 for the marriage so I was not sure if that was the case.

Thank you
Thank you for all you have done to help me & others to find info on are relatives. It is a wonderful service that you do for us with out even a second thought . I just needed to tell you that you have really helped me . Most of the info I have found has not come from these Web sites that charge a small fortune to sell family info. This web page gives it away for free like it should be done especially when it is mostly found by individuals like yourself. Not the web sight ! Thank you again for your help ! Sincerely yours John Markham Gassaway ~Carter

Hi their, I need to make a correction on William N. Gassaways memorial page under siblings. He had two sons both with the first wife , ( second wife committed suicide ) My Great Grand mother Martha Brown was the first wife . His first son was William Griggs Gassaway got his law degree from George Washington university, worked for the telephone Company in Howard county Md. later was Elected & served as a member of The Maryland house of Delegates 1933-1937 democratic party & the second son was Lt. William Farrow Gassaway . Every one called him ( Billy ) he was also was a doctor in Ellicott City Md. He was in the D- day invasion & parachuted into France. He received the Bronze star for saving fellow soldiers in the Battle of the Bulge (France). He was deeply effected by the War & when ever asked he would only talk about the french girls kissing him & his comrades for saving them from the Germans . He was married & his Sons Name is also William Farrow Gassaway . Can you add this info to Dr, William Nicholas Gassaways memorial page .

RE: Monte Griffith
Hi Glenn, Nah, it wasn't too hot - I went early. I took photos of the whole section Monte was in - Griffith, Willson, Hammond and am trying to sort it out. There may be others in there you may be interested in. Dick

Robert Stout
RE: Stout family photos
Minter Joseph Stout (Uncle Joe) was my father's brother (not his uncle); he was MY uncle. He was born in Poolesville, MD on 10/2/1904 and died in New Haven, CT on 1/26/1965 where I presume he is buried although I haven't investigated it and he does not appear to be listed in FindAGrave.

He was named "Minter" because my grandfather, Robert W. Stout, Sr. (61518026) had a very close friend named Minter. Minter Joseph Stout went by the name of Joe.

He married Arline Drexler and had two children (Elinor Arline and Robert W. Stout, II). Interesting ly, Joe and his daughter, Elinor, both had terrible eyesight (20/2000) and were both legally blind although with very thick glasses they could function. His son, Robert W. Stout, II had better than perfect eyesight (20/10) and was an Air Force fighter pilot.
