Re: John F Zimmerman
Hi again. Yeah the re-enlisting occurred to me as well. Sorry I got your curiosity piqued!

RE: John F Zimmerman
Beth thanks for following up! I have compared the two side by side and nearly everything lines up except the two cemeteries and one other thing (further below). I like your theory that maybe there is a marker for John next to his first wife. There is another slightly troubling aspect--according to the Veterans burial card, he served in the civil war only 16 days as a musician in Company H 14th Regiment. According to the narrative in google book (linked in my other message), he was in Company H, 177th Regiment from Nov 1862 for 9 months. I also have the Civil War draft registry 1863 with he and two of his brothers listed (see link below). So I am confused.

Lantzs Emmanuel Cemetery is a small and attached to a church. I think I could call and check it out.

John F Zimmerman
Hi Beth,

I have been looking at trees and such and these two John F Zimmermans appear to be the same individual (though not on the surface):

yours:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=81246280

"Grave Hunters":
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=51682681

John F married twice, first to Magdalena Kiefer (51682648) and then to Rebecca Campbell (101794963). The marriages are reflected on the separate memorial pages. Also, the daughter Hannah Zimmerman (72698357) was the daughter of Magdalena. The Grave Hunters memorial has the sibling and parent links correct, but the burial location is different. All of the spouse and children of John F are in a bio in the first full paragraph in this document, page 246:

https://play.google.com/books/reader?printsec=frontcover&output=reader&id=ItMwAQAAMAAJ&pg=GBS.PA246

I'm not sure how/if it's possible to merge these two records, but they appear to be the same except the cemetery.
