Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started into genealogy in 1990 and enjoy tracing my family's history, and learning about the history of the area's my ancestors lived in. I take pictures of many headstones when I go to a cemetery, so if you see a memorial page I have and you are related, don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. (If you would like for me to transfer a page to you, please let me know by using the "edit" button since that will provide both a link to the page and a link to your contributor page with the necessary ID# for the transfer).
I especially try to get photos of our veteran's headstones as I believe they have all earned, besides our gratitude and other things, the right to have a memorial page on this site.
Anyone wishing to use the photos, in their genealogy, that I have posted on this website are free to use them.
Anyone wishing to have memorials that I have added removed from find a grave need only send a request. I put the memorial pages here so that family members in search of ancestors can find them, not to offend anyone.

Names I am tracing: Boone, Musser, Baney, Boston, Kyttle (Kittle), Monroe, Swire, King to name the main ones.

What a Surprise to see Headstone
Dear Jay; I have been working on my Great Grandfather's history for 6 months. Seeing his Headstone at Forest Lawn Cemetery was stunning. Is his plot in a military section? Thank You very much. Doug Johnson, Colorado Springs, CO.

Albert T Matteson Stone
Hi,

I noticed his son was listed on the stone at the bottom. I have added the information for Harrington. Can you add the photo to his record as well.

Thanks

How to find some family members
Dear Jay,
I have been working my way through family mementos and papers and came across a wonderful letter sent to my grandmother upon the death of my grandfather in 1963. It was from a co-worker on the New York Central railroad. I have his name and address but not much else but I think his family might be interested in seeing the letter. You are the one who posted the entry of a grave that might be this man, although he would have been only 22 at the time. His name was Reverend James H McCullough and his address was 235 Adams St, Buffalo 6, NY. I'm not a genealogist and don't really know where I might turn to find out more about this man. Any ideas of how to find his family? Maybe you might know if there are other family buried nearby, I can't figure that out from the entry.
Thanks for any help.

Guy and Nellie Colvin
Jay, with your interest in veterans, you might be interested in reading today's Associated Press story about Pvt. Carroll Heath, the nephew of Guy and Nellie (36096758). He lived with them in the 1940 census. Carroll was in the Philippines when he was listed as MIA. His body was never recovered. We honor this hero today. He will not be forgotten.
