Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began doing family genealogy over 30 years ago. After I retired from the military, I became very interested in the Civil War. I had visited many civil war cemeteries, and the many unknown soldiers buried in them. Every soldier who died in war for his country should be known and honored. And the families of the soldier should be able to know where he is buried, this has been my goal to provide that information to those who are searching for a soldier.

I spend a great deal of my time traveling to battlefields and cemeteries, and researching information on a soldier or person. If at anytime I can be of help or if you need more information please contact me. Or if you have more information on a soldier. If a correction needs to be made "PLEASE" contact me. Don't write an other "BIO" in the Flowers and Notes section of the Memorial. Leave a message or email me anytime.

I will tranfer memorials if it is a request made by a relative of a soldier. If you are not related please do not ask. If you have information in regards to a soldiers memorial I will be more then happy to add it.

"The Bivouac of The Dead"

The muffled drums sad roll's all beat
the soldier's last tatoo,
No more on life's parade shall meet
The brave and fallen few.

The neighing troop, the flashing blade,
The bugles stirring blast,
The charge,the dreadful cannonade,
The din and shout are past.

Rest on embalmed and sainted dead,
Dear as the blood ye gave,
No impious footstep here shall thread.
The herbage of your grave,

On fame's enternal camping ground,
Their silent tents are spread,
And glory guards with solemn round,
The bivouac of the dead.

No vision of the morrow's strife
The warrior's dream alarms,
No braying horn nor screaming fife
At dawn shall call to arms,

No rumor of the foe's advance
Now sweeps upon the wind,
No troubled thought at midnight haunts
Of love ones left behind,

Your own proud land's heroic soil
must be your fitter grave;
She claims from war his richest spoil,
The ashes of the brave.

-Theodore O'Hara-

Note: In making correction to memorials, I will make corrections, Birth dates, Death dates, Marriage dates add a spouse or children, if they have memorials, I will not add long Bio's, I just don't have the time. If you have a Bio I will be more then happy to transfer a memorial to you to add a bio, when finished just transfer it back. I spent a great deal of time traveling to battlefields and cemeteries which takes up a lot of my time, I would be greatful for any help you can give me in regards to memorials.

RE: Bethel Cemetery
Hi Ted, Shirley Lewis, the LaPlume Twp supervisor, told me the cemetery is abandoned. They really don't know who else is buried there beside the people who have headstones. Her telephone # is (570)945-5438.

RE: Bethel Cemetery
Ted, Let me know what happens at meeting. If there's anything I can do just let me know. It would be so nice to see the cemetery cleaned up, esp if the headstones could be placed upright again. Mary Lou

Memorial# 57962461
First off Royal was a Corporal.

He is buried in Frankfort Ross Co OH although he did die in TN.

There are two memorials for him. This one and Memorial# 66405145. Is there some way we can merge these two.

Thanks so much.

RE: Bethel Cemetery
Shirley, who lives next door, is the LaPlume Twp Supervisor. She said the cemetery is abandoned. I think I mentioned to you that some of my family cleaned up the family sites in April, but recently I drove by and it's wild again. Also alot of the headstones have fallen over, engraved face down, and have sunken into the ground the whole width of the stone. So it's not just weed whacking that needs to be done. ML

Hi Ted, I see you've been hard at work adding people to the cemetery. Have you had a chance to get up there yet?

RE: William Walker memorial
Wow, Ted! I knew you would find the answer! Thank you so much for your research. Feel bad for William Walker with the wrong state attached to him. Oh well....
At least I know it is the correct William Walker. Thanks so much.

RE: William Walker memorial
Ted, I am sorry to bug you again, but regarding William Walkers memorial page, I have some other questions. You told me that the IND. on his stone probably stood for Indiana. I thought so too, but it made no sense to me because he was born in Maryland and fought in the 84th IL. That is why I asked you because maybe there was something else IND. stood for.
So, my question is, do you think that is the wrong tombstone pic that Betty Chambers put up and do you know for sure William Walker is buried at Stone River Cemetery?
Thanks, Ted.

William Walker memorial
Ted, do you know what the IND. stands for on William Walker's stone at Stones River National Cemetery? As you know, he was killed at Stones River, TN in Civil War.
Again, thank you for your help.
