I live in Texas but was raised in Southern Illinois.|
A lot of people here have helped me by photographing headstones of my family members that are far away from me now, so in order to give back to this online community, my husband and I go to local cemeteries and photograph the headstones.
If I've taken a picture of your family members headstone, I am the copyright holder. If it's a photo that I own, please feel free to use it in your own personal family tree such as Ancestry.com.
I won't link memorials to "Burial Unknown" memorials. Find A Grave's primary purpose is a grave registration site. If you don't know where the grave is, IT DOES NOT BELONG ON FIND A GRAVE.
I won't add copy and paste online census or other indices information to memorials. You can re-write the information and reference these sources and I will gladly add it to a memorial. See examples below of what I'll accept.
This is an example of re-written use of census information added to a memorial Nancy Jane Clark
This is an example of properly sourced information. James Alexander
I'm experimenting using a 1000 lumen flashlight while taking photos of old weathered stones and those always hard to read, gray and white marble, and it's been a big help. Here's an example George Wesley Weatherford
