|PLEASE, CONTACT ME VIA THE EDIT TAB on the memorial with any corrections, additional information or transfers. |
Transfers: Please USE THE EDIT TAB FROM EACH family member's memorial. Although I do not strictly stick to the Find A Grave recommendations, please do not request large groups of transfers. If you want to "gather" memorials, creating a virtual cemetery for them is a great way to do so. Otherwise, I am happy when a person's memorial is "found" and is tended by family.
You may certainly use my monument, and other pictures for your PERSONAL PRIVATE family profiles. We are finding our pictures on Ancestry without source, and not linked, which is illegal. IF YOU CANNOT PROPERLY SOURCE OTHER'S MATERIAL, DO NOT USE IT!!!
Happy hunting!! Grace

Thank you for your quick reply!! I appreciate you trying to help.
I am mostly trying to find the parents of John Irvin's mother, Eliza Louisa (or Louisa Eliza) Crouse Irvin Arney. I think I'm getting close, and your information on Find-a-Grave helped me.
So, THANK you! :)

Hello, again, Grace!
Upon further digging here on Find-a-Grave, I found a gravesite for Squire L. Irvin in Owen County, Indiana. Could this be John's father?? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=117277314
The date certainly fits with his widows marriage to Lawrence Arney.

Hi, Grace --
I am working on sorting out the details of one of my ancestors -- Lawrence Arney. (He can be found on Wikitree at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Arney-131)
I have documentation from the US Census and a book called "Owen County Cousins" that refer to his third wife, Elizabeth/Louisa Crouse Irvin (or Irvin Crouse, depending on who you ask).
Many of the details match up with what you have on John Q. Irvin's memorial (#70266655); however, there are some discrepancies with dates and names. It's getting a little confusing, and I want to make sure that we have the correct Louisa/Elizabeth Crouse.
I was hoping that you could share your sources with me. I'm having a difficult time finding any records online for Louisa/Elizabeth Crouse and her husband.
Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for the transfer. I appreciate you making her memorial.

You are very welcome. I am not related nor did I know Lt Yates. My father was a Marine who was killed in action so I am partial to our troops.

First, thank you so much for your contributions to Find A Grave. I and many others appreciate all the time and effort you put into creating the memorials.
I am interested in William Bates who died in 1884 in Iowa. Apparently, his parents were James [1783-1874] and Charity Haworth Bates. I am trying desperately and unsuccessfully to learn who James' parents were. I have quite a bit of information about him, but can find nothing about his birth, other than calculating it from his tombstone in Marshall County, Iowa.
Do you know anything about him? I see you make reference to Lloyd Gilchrist in William's memorial. Any help there?
Thank you for any information you share.
