I was born in 1926. I started working on my family tree in 2000. I was learning what little I know about computers at the same time.Had never touched one until my children talked me into it in 1999 (Nov) For Christmas that year my Daughter and Son-in-law gave me the Family Tree Maker.I had a few notes that I had writen down from my Mother. Luck would have it that I found her family in Kentucky with a lot of help from Doug Moore. At this time I am working on the families from around Allen, Adair, Barren, Metcalfe, Warren and Monroe County, Kentucky, Warren County, Tennessee, and Caswell County, North Carolina.Hagan, Crisp, Goodman, Garman and Rowe in KY. Crisp, Warren, Anderson, Snipes, Masey and Henegar in Tennessee. Crisp, Warren, Cooper and many more in North Carolina.I Live in California. Seems that I have left the impression that I live in places where I am searching. I don't travel around anymore since 2005.Thanks to all who have posted memorials.|

|Tammy King||Memorial transfer...|
I am not related so I transferred the memorial where you left a message. If you have anyone else in Blues Hill Cemetery that I have listed let me know. IF they are not related more closely to me, I will transfer. My daddy was a Smith and my mom's maiden name was Melton. A lot of burials @Blues Hill are related but I entered a lot from the cemetery books to try and get all the earlier burials listed so Blues Hill could be Almost complete. One contributor had my daddy listed and had he dfied in America Samoa/he died in Centertown, Warren, Tennessee. I requested but he ignored my request. He did finally transfer to one of my sisters, so all is good!
|Gary L. and Wilma (Knigge) Luther||RE: Goodson memorials|
Very nice to meet you.
Linda had sent an email and said you probably would be getting ahold of me. I apologize for being so slow. I do a lot of volunteer work and I had three full days back to back and I am just shortly going to leave to go to Omaha.
I hope that I can perhaps clear this up for you.
I am very aware that you are relation to the family you have entered. I am familiar with a lot of the Goodson names. Erwin Goodson stayed with my parents at one point in time. He actually graduated in the Class of 1920 at Alexandria High School where I graduated from.
He and Ida were very delightful people. We went to their home many times and I got to know their children and still have contact with one of them. I can certainly supply you with information on that family if you want it. It is such a small world.
*** Now in regards to the cemeteries. There is only one cemetery in Gilead area and that is the Union Cemetery. It is often referenced, the Gilead Cemetery and The Komrs cemetery .
So they are all three names one in the same. Union Cemetery.
You indeed you photographed stones; they are almost identical to the ones that I photographed. They however are in the Union Cemetery. As you go in the gate they are immediately to the left or North.
My Grandparent Komrs donated the land for the cemetery. As you look to the South the windmill that you see is on the farmstead that my Mother was born at. I have spent many hours in that cemetery. As you go in the main gate if you look to the East, the large stone with Komrs is my great grandfather, the man that donated the land.
I do not have a problem transferring them and will do so. I would like to make a suggestion. Transfer yours to Union Cemetery (which is where they are) and I will delete mine as soon as that is done. Or ask me to transfer mine to you the one's that I have entered in Union, then you can delete yours, whichever is easiest for you.
*** And just so you will know for further reference. There are people that are not as generous about transferring relatives as I am that do not fall under Find A Grave Guidelines. I am one that will do transfers, there are some that will not do transfers and they are not nice about telling you NO.
The following is taken from the Find A Grave guidelines:
Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Just an FYI. I have contacted Find A Grave and explained to them about the cemeteries and ask them to link them so families will not find frustration looking for relatives. Just so you will know that this is accurate the local Thayer County Genealogy Society has walked out all the cemeteries in Thayer County and records from the Corp of Engineering also mapped/graphed the county and ALL cemeteries were marked with a + (cross).
I hope this helps you.
With all that said. I will be willing to be of assistance to you in getting your relative transferred so that your family members that are searching will be able to find them and their proper place of rest and get them transferred to you.
You are to be admired for the work you have done and especially to start it as late in life as you have. Keep on being a good example to people, that life can begin at any age.

Allie Zelma (Cunningham) and James Wesley Gilley are not on FindAGrave.
James A. Cunningham - 17790927
Mary Frances Mitchell-Cunningham - 17790931
My guess is that Allie and James are buried at the Caney Branch Cemetery in Morrison, TN. When I get out that way, I'll see if I can't find their graves and do a memorial.
|Anna Jaech||Francis Brandon|
I see you've left flowers at the memorial for my gg gf Francis Brandon & that you are cousin - I would love to know the link. There are so many of us who have corresponded thru the years, but I think I've missed you.
|Kathy (McPhaul) Cather||William Gaston Warren|
Would you like me to transfer him to your care? I am not related to him and would prefer he be with someone he is related to.
|Virginia Brown||John Clagett|
Thanks for your information, which has been posted on John's memorial, giving you credit.

You're welcome, Joy. No, not a relative, just passing through. Because of taking some extra photos, though, I hope to find a real, live relative for you pretty soon! --Harriet
