Requests to other editors:

Please use the EDIT function on a specific memorial for ALL MESSAGES, requests, TRANSFERS, DUPLICATES, etc. concerning a particular memorial. DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THIS PAGE FOR SUCH THINGS.

For a transfer request please use the Edit button on the memorial, then Suggest and state your relationship, etc; this is the only way I'll handle it; otherwise your requests will go unanswered. Don't use the message board below for such things pertaining to a specific memorial.

All Messages and requests to me should be civil and polite. No sarcasm please!

Remember please that Find A Grave serves the general public, not just genealogists. Please don't sent me corrections with gen speak shorthand in them (for example, s/o, m/i/l, mil, gggf, etc). Please spell them out.

Before starting a new cemetery: be sure to check to make sure the cemetery does not already exist.

Biographical information and obituaries should not be included in a virtual flower.

Think outside the box.

Please do not ask me to add unsubstantiated / unsourced claims that the person is related in some way to a famous person.

If you ask me to add info from the photo of a grave marker, especially an old one, please give me the exact dates, etc., that you want added, so that I am spared having to try to decipher the marker.

Transfer requests should be individual and specific and must be made by using the EDIT function on the memorial in question. If you are requesting a transfer based on relationship, please state that relationship and your full name. I am flexible on your connection to the person and will make transfers outside the guidelines at my discretion. I have been disappointed when I did make a transfer and the transferee did nothing to improve the memorial or even worse deletes what I have added.

No triangulated transfers. A triangulated transfer is when A asks for B to be transferred to C.

The Colletts #6190902
Hi Martin,
Thanks so much for making memorial pages for Bart, Ethel, and Jeanette. I added a picture of a painting the Jeanette made of her parents to Ethel and Bart's pages. Jeanette looks a lot like her mom. They were a very special family to my grandparents, the Bartows, you may remember transferring their pages to me. The Colletts and the Bartows were always best friends in PA and in retirement in FL. I actually thought they were my aunt and uncle because my mom had us kids call them that. Mom, Nanette, and Jeanette were close friends growing up, but had lost track of each other after the parents died. Mom died 2 years ago without knowing whatever happened to Jeanette. This brings a bit of closure to my sisters and I. Thanks again!
Gail
P.S. I put pictures on Ruth and Ray Bartow, have a look.

First, let me say, that you have done some fantastic work with Find-A-Grave! All the memorials added connecting folks with their ancestors - WOW!

I have a request. This is my father's memorial and he is not interred yet. Can I kindly request that you delete the memorial? He will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery - but, we do not have a date yet.

I would like to create the memorial after he is interred so that I retain ownership of it.

Thanks for your consideration.
