Re: James Toone, Immigrant
Hi Rodney,

Thanks for posting the Ark & Dove info & link at the memorial for James T. Toone at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=32817239

James Toone, Sr. who died circa 1676/77 in North Farnham Parish, Northern Neck, Virginia Colony, in what is now Richmond County, was my 8th g. grandfather.

I believe he came to the Virginia Colony prior to 1651, as evidenced by a headright record for a James Town by John King. Even if that's not him, there's plenty evidence he was in the Northern Neck of Virginia prior to 1660.

I do think some of the older databases are giving some oral family history, none of which show any documentation or evidence of their statements. None of that really matters as much to me as the documented evidence that does show his whereabouts, his life and death.

My Rootsweb database is located at http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=gjs4kids&id=I234 if you should care to take a look.

I also have documentation that he was not the son of Henry Toone & Mary Ward of Leicester, England, all from their records office. Again, I think that was old research without proper documentation.

Regards,
Gloria J. Tune

Quick/McCoy
Thanks for the photos. Although I'm not directly related, the McCoys and the Quick are related to my cousin. I'm always been fascinated with finding Rose as she was my cousins grandmother.

I did visit Calvary and St. Marys recently. I loved the statue. That picture should grace Mary McCoys site.
