Remember to thank your photo volunteer! It's amazing the amount of people who don't say 'Thank You'. A volunteer uses their gas and time getting YOUR pictures. We go out in all types of weather conditions to search for your stones. We research on maps where they are located, find them, come home and edit them and then post them. It doesn't look like much just seeing your stone picture online but it took quite a bit to get it there! We do this as a favor to you, it's not expected of us just because we happen to live in the area that your stone is in. I've cut back considerably on getting people's stones. I know others that have as well. Why should we do all that and never get just a simple 'Thank You'!

Thanks so much to all the volunteers that have gotten my family stone pictures...I'd be lost without you! I know how difficult this can be.

THE PERFECT GRAVESTONE PICTURE

1) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO dates or your name through the pictures. This is REALLY tacky!
They look awful and are SO unnecessary!! This is
about them, not us!

2) No chopped off around the sides. There should be 'outdoors' around all 4 sides. I want to see what the stone looks like!

3) The stone picture looks best if it's taken in front of the stone, not at an angle. A trick I use to keep my reflection off the stone: I stand behind another stone and use the zoom on the camera (if needed).

4) No 'postage stamp' sized pictures. Set your
camera to take regular sized pictures.

Let's honor our dead as best as we can by taking beautiful pictures. These pictures will most likely be the only ones on the internet for generations to come!

RE: Livermore
Yes- it's a very nice place. Much nicer than Ft. Drum, a place I've spent a lot of time at. That place always seemed cold no matter what time of year!

P.S- I see most of the requests you've fulfilled were up in NY. My wife's family lives in Lima, NY so we visit up there often.

RE: John ALton
Wow, you're fast. You're welcome. Are you interested in claiming John's ashes? I would be glad to give hints on how to navigate that process. My regular email is zegers.p@gmail.com
