Let's just say I've been bitten by the Genealogy bug. I live in the Stearns County area & have a CD 'Index to Gravestones of Stearns County, MN' also 'Index to Gravestones of Benton County MN'|
so I can look up to see if they are in Stearns or Benton County. The date only goes up to the year 1975. If you haven't already figured it out, I love chocolate!!!

I appreciate you time, effort and costs involved in providing these services to the Find A Grave Program. Anything I can do from Washington State - please do not hesitate to let me know. You indicated in your bio that you have photo's from other cemeteries. I am wondering if you have anything for Bernard F. Dank b.1900 d.1956. Bennie is the only one in this group that I can not identify a cemetery for. Bernard or Bennie is listed as: Bernard F. Dank Find A Grave 114368365. As I recall he is buried in Maple Lake (New). Will call my sister Eileen. She attended the funeral. I was in the Mediterranean sea at the time of his death. Mom and Dad really helped this family out a lot. Susanna Reiter comes thru the Eishers (my GrandMother Susanna Eichers Lardy. Thank you for your kindness in taking the photo's and have A Great Weekend. don
I recalled why I sign the Guest book. Vernon served on the USS Randolph CVA-15. I was on the USS Ticonderoga CVA-14. Vernon and Donnie Merten were good buddies while on board ship. I was like a brother to Donnie and the three of us pulled liberty in the Mediterranean Sea, in ports like Cann's, Naples, etc. don
My e- mail is email@example.com . Can you try it one more time because I had about 15 in the inbox this a.m. tks. don

If he served in the Military and it was in the obit that he was from Minnesota, I have on occasion sent a Naval saying, of "May you have 'Fair Winds and Following Sea's'"., or other sayings. It's our way in the Navy to say Good Bye to a fellow sailor/services member or Ship mate. I have various funnel home obits sent to keep up with ex service members I knew or heard of. If I recall, this member was involved in WWII in the PI, saving children afloat in the harbor and he pluged into the waters to bring them onboard their ship. Believe he got the Silver Star Award? Having spent many years visiting that sea port while serving on Destroyers and Guided Missile Cruisers in the Pacific Ocean and seeing their living conditions, the neglected children and seaniors, one feels an akinship to those who have gone before us, who helped those in need, without thought for their own safety... don. I will start entering Memorials for the Danks tonight.

Hi Choc-a-hol-ic. There is a memorial for George Dank and George Penn. In Find a Grave or by going to Martha's and the spouses' are listed just click on their name and a memorial will pop-up. Martha is Find A Grave# 1133443011 and you have entered her tombstone photo. George Dank's memorial is Find A Grave# 113470588 and George Penn is Find A Grave# 113477689. I have sponsored all of them. If you go to Find A Grave# 52385550 Joseph Krueger, Sr., my GGfather you will see all of the 16 children from two marriages, first Rosalia Died and buried in Holy Trinity, Winsted, Mn. Her Find A Grave # 52385733 and Augusta Find A Grave 52385969 the second wife is in cold spring and her photo is already in Find A Grave along with Joseph, Sr. I put them in some time ago. They are all sponsored. Now George Penn is a bit of a mystery. When I was in Cold Spring in 1999 when mom died. I visited the Dank area and their was a small, 14' x 14' stone just sitting on the surface to the left of Martha and it contained George Penn's name and to the left was George's tall white tombstone, with cross on top of the sandstone tombstone. When I returned in 1904 Penn's was not there, nor were a few others that just sat on the top of the ground?? Don

Hi - Sorry I did not get a message about your uncle. Please retransmit. Photo's on the Dank's, sure I would be happy to set up memorials for them. They were our farm neigbors, just adjacent to our lands to the north of us. When Clarence and Bennie were sick one year, I plowed their 160 with our tractors they were larger and seeded their crops, cleaned their cattle barns, etc. The Children were Lorreta and Lorean. Plus Lorean had a child or two that died and is/are buried beside her (if I recall it states something like "Our baby" or words to the effect on the tombstone. Loretta's son became a high level manager in the VA and is still in the area. Saw him last in 2005. You send the photo's, I'll do the memorials. Happy to do so they were EXCELLENT neighbors. I have them in my tree, not sure how much I have on Bennie (Bernard), he was Alberts younger brother and Clarence was Bennie's son. Bennie lost his wife after Clarence was born and the two had a difficult time - after her death, they became very private, unless you were very close to them and had their confidence, just no communications took place. tks don
