In looking at Civil War Records online, I have found that this is definitely for J. K. McMurtry (stands for John Kirkpatrick). He was a member of Company G, 29th Regiment, Illinois Infantry.
Please change your entry for this gravesite.

You might want to recheck the tombstone as the inscription looks like it should be J. K. McMurtry. The "R" in McMurtry does not look like the second initial.

I do have Smith family in Ebenezer, found Caroline Nickels Hawk name this morning 10-27-13 Gosh, if this is my Great Grandmother Mary Smith (Hawk's) mother, Caroline Nickels Hawk, this is a great find, and I'm much appreciative of your time and effort. Caroline had married John Nickels after her first husband either died or they divorced.
I am on Long Island, New York.
