Lots of information about our family was on the verge of being lost, so I began researching both my and my husband's extended families plus families from the small towns we both came from. |
Family connections expanded. I received much material for the Dare/Twitty/Baker family from Dare researcher M.Doris Provart Gower, who graciously agreed to my sharing with you. Darnell-Hollaway/ Holloway family got help from Evah Hollaway Lager Picard, Grace Norris Hollaway and Lee Ann Hollaway Bailleu.
The Zahn/Brand/Schneider Kukuck & Voigt family was assisted by Talisman Temple Barbosa, Mary Farley Cummins and David Peipho. The Steinberg/ Koerner family has research from cousins Don & Janet Dickason, Lois Steinberg Adams and Ruth Koerner McCabe.
The extended Martin/Snelling/Shupe family come from my interviews with family members and the research of Terry Harper of Albion, IL, a fellow family member.
The Witt/Hoffman/Franks family has material from Mary Ann Franks O'Neill, Eleanor Hensen Kerber and the website of John Franks.
The Gerken-Helmers (Meyer/Martens, Brandt) family is mostly mine with help of cousins Mary Ann Hill and Eunice Martens Blissard.
Other individuals added information for their extended family. Most of them are credited in their additions. St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, IL has a public website which gave much data for my great-grandfather and those families who lived near my childhood home.
Now I can share what I've found with others and get even more accurate data. I have used the best information I have, but will gladly correct errors and add or subtract material or transfer memorials if requested by someone closer.
Happy family researching!!

Thanks for the fast fix! Yes, I'm related but only very distantly. I'm kind of reaching the outer cousin boundaries of my great big family tree with Stoller cousins now. More concerned about getting her name right so other people can find her. But thank you so much for offering!

I just got your message today. Yes, I would be interested in taking the Martin's and Armstrong's. I haven't had a chance to look through them yet but, if I'm related... sure, I want them. Thanks!
|Steve Malone||RE: Martin family in Old Baptist, Jefferson Co. IL|
Sure, I'd be happy to take 'em over. I thought Neal would be more interested. Like I said, they aren't my direct ancestors, they're just related to the children of a 4th great grandfather.
|Kathie AAH||RE: Michael Dare|
Thank you so much for transferring Michael Dare's memorial to me. I really appreciate it. I hope you and yours are having a great start to your New Year!

The Pipers were connected to the McLaughlin family. My grandmother was Bessie McLaughlin Brooks Wakefield, daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth McCown McLaughlin. Bessie went to California early in her life, married and raised her 5 children there, one of which was my mother Evelyn Brooks Hughes. Lucille McLaughlin was her favorite niece, daughter of her favorite brother, Hezekiah, called Kiah. Lucille married William Phillips.
Best wishes to you and yours for a Wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Gerri Hughes Brown

Nope, not related. Except for a couple of really remote connections, I'm not related to anyone at Lyman. Thanks for the nice memorial for Jean!
|Don Leuty||RE: Alma Blankenship|
Many thanks, Rosetta. No blood, here. This is the wife of a 3rd half-cousin descendant of Thomas Leuty. Came across a cemetery site with obits and pics and added them to my tree. Just hate to let a good piece of data go to waste.

From the California Death Index, 1940-1997:
Emma A. Bryant, b 21 Feb 1895 in Illinois, d 8 May 1970 in Riverside Co., California
Delmar Vernon Bryant, b 24 Dec 1901 in Illinois, d 30 Sep 1981 in Riverside Co., California
|Carolyn Wilson||RE: Ortlepps in Lyman Twp. Cemetery|
Rosetta, there is no need to transfer any of the Ortlepps to me. I am not related and don't have anything to add to your excellent bios.
We have 11 of the 12 children linked to the parents. I found Emma Ortlepp Bryant (and her husband Delmar) in the California Death Index, with both deaths in Riverside Co., CA, but there appears to be no Find A Grave memorial for either one.
OK, I will keep these Holloway memorials if you wish. If ever you would need them back, just let me know.
