I had been on findagrave for several years, but only became active when I found photos of family tombstones. I requested photos of my grandparents' graves in California and had my request answered within two weeks. I was so grateful that I became a volunteer myself. |
I have been interested in genealogy since I took a course in the 1970s, but only became really active when I discovered all the wonderful Internet resources a few years into my retirement. (As all retirees know, retirement just means you don't get paid anymore for the work you do, but you get to choose your projects.) I guess I should describe myself as semi-retired. I still earn a pittance as a freelance writer/editor, and I lead small groups of adults in exercises to improve writing skills and clear writers' block. Many of these are people writing their memoirs or family histories.
I maintain a database of Blanco County, Texas pioneers and their descendants whose families are interrelated by birth or marriage. See it on Rootsweb.com
I took a lot of tombstone photos in Blanco County, Texas in the summer of 2012. Most of these are people very distantly related or not related at all. If you see your family here, please inquire about a transfer. I would like to see all these families in the care of close relatives.

|Andy||Thanks for Seagoe info...|
Thanks for the Seagoe connection you supplied. Seagoes are my cousins, but living Seagoes in this area have only vague information. When at Pomona Cemetery recently, I took some pics, but was somewhat confused as to who was who. Checked a little on your info and found it fit well. Also, I'm still looking for a couple of (non-Seagoe) family graves in Brown County, so if you ever get up that way, please let me know. Thanks again for all your hard work. Blessings to you and yours.

Could you please remove the headstone photo on this memorial. I have posted the correct photo's of his grave. The photo you have posted belongs to his son Charles Loofs who is located in Section "C". Thank you in advance. JR
