Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am Shirley Grant Farrell and my husband is Jim Farrell and we are retired and living in Hurst, Texas. We have 10 children between us, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. My husband Jim is a retired carpenter and I am a retired office manager.
I am really enjoying working on our family history. The surnames I am working on are Farrell, Neely, Clifford, Riley, Higgins and Stringer for my husbands family. For my family I am researching Grant, Tidwell, Gaddie, Duggins, Lassiter, Higgs, Nowell. For my son-in-law we are working on Goodell, Fink, Stein.

RE: Thank You
You are welcome. Though there is no marker, I took the lot photo and marked where each person is in the lot in the event another family member recognizes one of the names. Thank you for the compliment, I do enjoy Memorial Park Cemetery and have spent so much time there I can find any burial location in the 60+ acre park. I have many relatives there and photographing markers for others give me a chance to visit them often. Red

You are very welcome. It was my pleasure to do this for you. I was disappointed he had only the funeral marker. I will keep an eye out and when they place a marker, I will take a picture and post that to his memorial.

Martha Duggins Futrell 1860-1941
Shirley, I would like it if you would add my
grandmother to the children of Martha Duggins.
My Grandmother was Cordelia Elizabeth Futrell
Thanks you, Judy

Ruby Mae Coe
Hi,Ruby and her 2 daughters were killed in car wreck west of Byars, OK. Head on collision on a curve this " side of Wayne & Rosedale " toward Byars,OK during a snow/ice storm. They were on there way to Ruby's mother Meddie & stepfather George Jennings for Christmas. The Jennings farm was just across the county line from Byars, Mcclain Co., OK into Garvin Co., OK. So there might be something in the paper about the wreck in McClain or Garvin Co. OK. I'm stumped on the surname Hendrickson on Ruby's marker. I've worked a bit on Ruby's mother's "Storie" line. I added a little more source info to Rubys memorial # 74868025.

RE: Hello
I am not related. However, you can call the cemetery and they probably can look in their records to tell you what you are looking for. Their number is (405) 677-8384.

Yes, we must indeed be kindred spirits when it comes to love of family history! In fact, I have often told my husband that when I retire from nursing it would be great to work at the Tennessee State Archives and work on genealogy all the time! I will certainly find you on Facebook, my name is Helen Pickens Murphy on there. Keep me updated on what you still need for your research. Helen

RE: Sharla,

Good morning. John [husband to Florence] was born 1918 and is probably 96 years old per Marker on Florence's memorial.

Hope you fine what you are searching for.

RE: Helen
Hi Shirley, I would be happy to return to the Parker Creek Church cemetery and take more photos for you. It sits next to the actual church, one that I have attended a couple of times, it is only about 1-2 miles away from my house so easy to reach. I too was surprised to see only 50 burials on the database as there are probably 100+ burials there. And yes, there were several Tidwell headstones scattered throughout. If you know which photos you want, just send me a message. In the meantime, I will inventory the graveyard and create memorials for those that don't exist. Incidentally, our next door neighbor out here in the country has been a Mrs. Mattie Tidwell, widow of Hubert Tidwell. Not sure where he was buried when he passed away in the 90's, they never had children but I know Hubert was from this area. Mrs. Mattie moved to a nursing home a couple of months ago, it broke my heart to see her health impact her ability to live alone but I'm sure she feels more secure now, such a sweet Christian lady. I also go to the State Archives library in Nashville quite often so can obtain old death certificates and obituaries if you need them also. Have a great day! Helen
