Hi, I'm Jonathan and I'm the webmaster for the Prentiss County Genealogical and Historical Society in Booneville, MS. I began researching my family's history at age 19 after my grandfather, Clingmin Hicks, passed away. My favorite part of research has always been visiting cemeteries and I thought a website such as this must exist, and sure enough, here it is. |
I'm not related to everyone I memorialize on here so if you are please contact me and I'll transfer your relative right over unless it's a direct and closely related ancestor of mine.
I made a lot of my memorials on here before January 2007 and before the website supported linking relatives. I would be glad to link relatives together if you would like.

It's actually an 'I' on her headstone, not a 'J', but it sure does look like a 'J'. Remove the 'J' from her name because it creates confusion.
You and I have been in contact many times. I just have to take a break when our work starts getting heavy around the first of April, and then we're really busy until the first of January each year.
This is my 'down time', so I'm back to working on my obsession.
I remember that you were not convinced about your ancestors in the New Hope Cemetery, and the last time we emailed each other, you were going to take a computer test. Did you do well on the test?
I added Isabella's parents names on her suggestion edit tab to make it as easy on you as possible.
Good to hear from you,

I am so happy to see that someone has added this cemetery. A friend of mine showed me the "real" Old Natchez Trace and how it runs through the middle of this cemetery. I was saddened to see the state of it though. I am happy someone has been able to get the names and photos of these graves so that family members can locate them. It really is a beautiful area, and so cool to think of how often that road was traveled. Thanks again!

Thank you for the link to their parents . I meant to write Florence and Walter Estes on my other message . I suppose Troy is on my mind because I created a Memorial page for him today and linked him to his parents who are also Ben and Mary J. Estes .

Thank you for adding the links to his parents .

Why are you blocking the headstone photos I have added to the memorials?

Hi, Jonathan - It's great to hear from you and I for one am extremely grateful and happy that you photographed these headstones! It means a lot to me.
I'll sit down with Mother over the weekend and talk about these names you've sent me and see what she comes up with! We own a sporting goods store and are open today and crazy busy.
I'll get back to you. Thanks!
Regards - Nancy

Thank you also for Uncle Arthur. My Mother is thrilled!

Jonathan, thank you so very very much for the transfer of "Miss Winnie" as my Mother says she was called in the family. It looks like I may need to contact you in regard to questions I have in regard to the Byrd/Anderson families due to the position you hold in Prentiss County! If you get an email from "Jazzbaby", please don't throw it out.
I'm doing well on research but am new and have run up against a wall on some of my ancestors.
Your work is just great and such a wonderful, generous blessing to me and I'm sure countless others. I am finding my way slowly but surely.

Thank you so much. I remember seeing a Rees stone, though not the Bennetts (although they may have not registered at the time). We looked the cemetery over twice, but I suppose with lichens and mildew I could have missed it. Thank you for posting the photo. I don't know if my mom's memory is faulty or if the stone was repaired (though I couldn't tell from the photo). I will assume it is there still and will look again if I/we make another trip to NE MS. Thanks for the reference points, and for all the work you have done at Campground and other areas nearby.

I have her birthdate as Feb 1855, which if accurate she could have been born in MS.. I don't know. I have her married to Wesley Newel on 3 May 1877. She died in Wynnewood Ok in my grandfathers house on 9 June 1933 when they were living there. I saw her grave when I was stationed at Ft Sill in 80s. I was a huge headstone with several of her children buried around her.
