Bio Photo "When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."

I've been working on genealogy for about 10 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.

"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady

if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

RE: Arthur Fry inquiry...
Hi there - thank you for your kind email. I can tell you that Adele's husband Arthur Wilson Fry was originally from Indiana (not sure what part!!) and that Adele and Arthur were married in Northern Kentucky. Either Campbell County or Kenton County - I am not sure which. Hope this helps - best wishes on your family tree search.
Sincerely -

Dr. William B. Laughlin
I am a local Rush County historian and I am the Historian at the
Rush County Genealogical Society.
I am heading up a total restoration of the Laughlin cemetery in Rushville Indiana.
I am concerned about preserving as much Rush county history as we can before it's gone.
Our little town is now on the right track but in the past preserving our landmarks and cemetery's was unheard of.
I could tell you several things that were sold to other counties and states and was also destroyed with no regard to preserve them.
I have met with Mike Pavey and a well respected gentleman who restores Pioneer cemetery's
With my history background I have obtained a lot of information about Dr William B, Laughlin.
I would like William B. Laughlin B. Laughlin memorial turned over to me if t=you can see fit to do so.
Please feel free to ask around for information on me. I also have been stuck on the restoration because we need a plot map and knowing the cemetery had it's first burial in 1815 or 1820. There may not be a plot map. If you have any idea if there is a plot map please let me know, any leads may help. Thanks Kevin H. Dr William B. Laughlin Find A Grave Memorial# 43923299 Again thanks for your help.

Request for source information
Hello -
Thank you for entering so many pages for folks buried in Zion Cemetery, Raleigh, Rush, Indiana, but I am wondering what you are using as the source(s) for the burials, especially when there is no corresponding headstone photo? I am also hoping that this source might provide some additional leads for some of the people I am researching.
Hope to hear from you.
Best Regards,

Gladys Pease
I would be interested in the Pea or "Pease" family tree since she is my grandmother and I hardly know anything about her ancestors. I believe she had a brother Richard?

RE: Gordon Ransdell
Yes. My father is the oldest son of Peter and Gladys (although I was always told her last name was "Pease"). They also had 3 other children, Darrel, Lloyd, and Patricia. Lloyd's and Patricia's memorials are also on my page. Darrel was cremated.

RE: Sadie Youngblood
For the St. Charles Cemetery, look up The St. Charles Twp. office, they are in ccharge of the St. Charles cemetery. The St. Charles Twp. office claims they do not have records, something about a fire, maybe you will have better luck!! :)
I have very limited information on Montello and Sadies line at all, I was working with Betty Jean and then lost contact with her, when I found her address, it was too late, she had passed away. ( She was the daughter of Montello ( 1901-1973) and Mary Maslowski.

Lawrence Lovett Allen family - East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, IN
I appreciate so much that you have posted the Lawrence Lovett Allen family in the East Hill Cemetery. LL Allen was my great great grandfather and I would like to link the other family members to him and his wife, Kate Churchill Allen on Find A Grave. If you are not a family member of his and if you are willing, I would be happy to manage the family memorials. Thanks for all you do.
