"When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."|
I've been working on genealogy for about 20 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.
"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady
if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

Sure, no problem. Thank you.
|sweetjuno||Joseph Clawson 138279530|
I just sent a couple of edits for Joseph Clawson, memorial 138279530. One note - I think the birthdate on his stone is off by a year. He was born shortly before the death of his mother, on 25 Nov 1841. But I think in the edit request I put it as 25 Nov 1842. 1841 is the correct date from what I've been able to find, despite what the stone says.
Thank you for transferring the Thrailkills to my care!

|Jim||RE: Beryl H. Skivington #154787372|
Susan Drummond # is 110506835 but I know you do not manage her memorial but when I try to add her Skivington #154787372 as her Mother, I get the following message:
We can not proceed because of the reason(s) listed below. Please press the back button in your browser, correct the problem(s) and try again.
There is already a pending relationship information edit for this memorial.
The pending edit was submitted by Shmilybrandon.
The pending edit will be processed within 13 day(s) (Nov 24, at the latest).
Are we adding the same info? Or, would you add her Mother's ID for me?

|David Forcade||Re: Joseph Howard|
As a possible continuance to Joseph's bio, I also found the following about Joseph in a book called “Biographical and Genealogical History of Wayne, Fayette, Union and Franklin Counties, Indiana”...
"Joseph (born Feb 27, 1803 in North Carolina) was raised and lived in Wayne County and was noted as being an able financier. Joseph died in 1850 at the age of 47, leaving a fine estate. He had married Cyntha Hurst in 1824; she being born in 1804 and died in 1854. Both Joseph and Cyntha are buried at the Franklin Cemetery in Milton, Wayne County, Indiana."
|David Forcade||Update request for Joseph Howard|
I tried to use the Edit tab on Joseph's memorial page but I get some weird thing called "Capcha" that I am not familiar with but am highly suspicious of. For that reason, I am sending this message to you to suggest an update to the memorial of Joseph Howard (Find A Grave Memorial# 40585510)...
A bio update for Joseph...
Joseph was the second of two children born to John Howard and his first wife, Ann Gaskins. John and Ann married on Nov 18, 1799 in Cateret County, North Carolina. Ann died shortly after Joseph's birth and his father soon married to Sarah Callaway.

|Gary Peifer||Zachariah Ammon's wife|
You created the memorial for Zachariah Ammon (120530091) on Find A Grave. Are you close to that site to inspect the headstone to see if his wife's name is on the RH side of the stone????
Mary Jeffries Ammon was born 1814 and died 1891 in Rush Co., IN. She was 77 years old.
I took a close look at the stone and it looks like there is a 77 in the area where the age would be.
