There are over 400 "unknown" in the Hilview East/Annex Cemetery in LaGrange, in the Pauper Section.. If you know who any of them are, please contact me. Of the 19 that have been identified by family and now have a marker with name and dates, the death year ranges between 1900 and 1949.

If you have a loved one that died in LaGrange and you have not found their grave, consider that they may be here.

I would appreciate it if you could leave a few flowers on their memorials. They are listed as Pauper Unknown and have the number that is on their marker.

The Clock of Life -

The clock of life is wound but once.
And no man has the power, to tell just when the hands will stop. At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad, indeed.
To lose one's health is more.
To lose one's soul is such a loss.
That no man can restore.

The present only is our own.
So live, love, toil with a will.
Place no faith in tomorrow.
For the clock may then be still.

Author - Robert H. Smith.

Those we Love remain with us,
for Love itself lives on.
Cherished memories never fade, because a loved one is gone.
Those we Love can never be, more than a thought apart.
For as long as there is a memory, they’ll live on in our heart.

Thank you so much for the pictures. May I use them in my family tree. I am trying to find those of my mom's family with different spellings of Brumbelow.... my mom was a Brumbeloe. They may spell there name different but they are from the same family line as best I can tell. THANKS AGAIN.

Nellis May Garland Morris
We are definitely related. Nellie was half sister to my mother, Jeneva Thena Garland Earp. I have met Alice and George. I have letters from Nellie and Alice to Aunt Mary Hulvey of Miami Oklahoma. Aunt Mary is another half sister of Nellie, as was their sister Hazel Florence Garland Claxton. I never knew Nellie and Bill Garland since they died before I was born in 1931. Never got to see Betty either, but I saw her handprint in chocolate on a new quilt that was displayed, because Betty died only a couple of weeks after she got it on a quilt that Grandma was making. Grandma never washed the quilt, so I saw that print everyday until Grandma's death. I have three or four photos of Nellie, one or two of Betty, only one of Bill. If you are researching Nellie's Garlands I would love for you to have them. I am 84 and my grandchildren and great grandchildren are not interested. I know Nellie and Betty are buried in the Quindard Cemetery, but can not pull up their graves on find a grave. Do you have any photos of their stones to share? Bill does not have a stone and is alone in his cemetery. Hope to hear soon from you.

Your cousin

Cornelius P. Marchman Sr.
Hi my name is Marrian Stinson and my great, great grandmother is Melissa Marchman. I do not know who her mother was but her father was Cornelius P. Marchman Sr. and my mother was her great grandmother and she was named after her. I have her picture as well.

Cornelius P. Marchman Sr.
Birth: Jul. 19, 1815
Jasper County
Georgia, USA
Death: Apr. 2, 1880
Troup County
Georgia, USA
Spouse:Sophia Green Hightower Marchman (1814 - 1880)

I see you do not have his grave site because he is buried behind the hog restaurant, it use to be a gun shop years ago. My mother and her siblings use to visit the estates as children growing up. My grandfather care for his grandson. I know the house is now in Rome Georgia. I wish that you can help to locate the cemetery that is back their? I do not know if I would be able to locate her mother, who I assume is bury their as well.
