|Janice McAlpine||Francis M. Fields Memorial# 65608834|
Francis M. Fields's parents were THOMAS Fields and Susannah Holly/Halley/Holley. Francis was on the 1850 census living with her mother Susannah Fields and brother Christopher Fields:
1850 > ILLINOIS > WHITE > 1 DIST 13, Series: M432 Roll: 132 Page: 346
Susannah Fields 47 [sic, should be 57] 250 NC
Christopher 18 farmer IL
Francis M 14 (f) IL
There was only one Christopher Fields in White Co. of that generation. His biography in "History of White County, Illinois," Interstate Pub Co. , 1883, page 718, says: "Christopher Fields, born in Enfield Township, Sept. 15, 1830, is a son of THOMAS Fields, a native of Tennessee, who came to this county in 1814 or 1815. . . . [Thomas Fields] was a soldier in the war of 1812, and also of the Black Hawk war."
The marriage record for Christopher's second marriage also listed his father as Thomas Fields and his mother as "Hollie."
Thomas Fields married Susannah "Susy" Holly/Halley/Holley on February 29,1812, in Roane Co., Tennessee, bondsman William Brown. ('Ansearchin' News, Tennessee Genealogical Society, Summer 1981, page 81, Roane County, Tennessee, Marriage Bonds -1801-1826. Copied from Microfilm by Eleanor Riggins Barham.)
I don't know why the Find-a-Grave memorials for this family are so messed up. Thomas and Susannah were documented in White Co as early as the spring of 1815 and they had several children, in addition to Francis, who are also buried in the Enfield Cemetery: James Fields Memorial# 65608843; Christopher Fields Memorial# 65608857;and Mary Ann Fields Hawthorne Memorial# 65812568.
They also have daughters-in-law and sons-in-law buried in the cemetery: Manesa J. Fields (Joshua) Memorial# 65608835; Emirilla Fields (James) Memorial# 65608844; Armilda C Johnson Fields (James) Memorial# 64451865; Sarah "Sallie" Boyers Fields (William)Memorial# 65608860; Andrew I. Garrison (2nd husband of Elizabeth Fields Land) Memorial# 65718172; and James Hawthorne (husband of Mary Ann Fields)Memorial# 65812567.

Manesa J. Fields Memorial# 65608835
Either Manesa is linked to the wrong Joshua Fields or the birth date for her husband is wrong.
The right Joshua Fields was born 1823 in White Co., Illinois, died 26 November 1863 at Missionary Ridge, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., Tennessee. Lt. J. M. Fields, Company B, 56th Illinois, is buried in Plot: B 810, the National Cemetery at Chattanooga (not Chickamug).
Joshua Fields married Manesa Jane Orr on 24 Jan 1842, White Co., Illinois.

Groom: Joshua Fields
Date: 24 Jan 1842
Place: White, Illinois, United States
Bride: Manesy Jane Orr
Reference ID: P. 140
GS Film number: 977068
Digital Folder Number: 005204400
Image Number: 00134
They were on the 1850 and 1860 censuses together:
1850 > ILLINOIS > WHITE > 1 DIST 13, Series: M432 Roll: 132 Page:
Joshua Fields, 27 farmer 160 IL
Manicia J 25 IL
Jenetta T 8 IL
Susan A 3 IL
Martin W 1/2 IL
1860 > ILLINOIS > WHITE > ENFIELD P O
Series: M653 Roll: 236 Page: 501
Joshua M Fields 37 Hotel keeper 1500/500 Ill
Mancy 36 Ill
Susan 13 Ill
Martin 9 Ill
Martha 6 Ill
Chas 1 Ill
Manesa was widow on the 1870 census:
1870 > ILLINOIS > WHITE > ENFIELD PCT
Series: M593 Roll: 289 Page: 368
Manesy Fields 47 keeping house 1000/450 Illinois
Martin 20 works on farm Illinois
As you can see, Joshua was 27-years-old on the 1850 census and 37-years-old on the 1860 census, so not born Nov. 26, 1836.

This Susan A. Fields was Susanna, the wife of Thomas Fields, Find A Grave Memorial# 65608832
|Janice McAlpine||Find A Grave Memorial# 65608832|
The two photographs posted on this memorial don't belong. The grave marker allegedly for Thomas Fields is actually the marker for a much younger man who fought in the Civil War -- hence the Civil War marker. The younger fellow was married to Frances.
The Thomas Fields of this memorial(b. 1793
d. 1840) was married to Susannah Halley/Holley on February 29,1812, in Roane Co., Tennessee. (Roane County, Tennessee, Marriage Bonds,1801-1826.) She survived him and was on the 1850 and 1860 censuses in White Co.

Glad the information was useful to you. It's always nice to find the cemetery location for our memorials. I often do memorials in that cemetery.

|Kenney Lee||Long Lost Relative|
I noticed that you created a memorial on Findagrave.com for a Clarence O Britt #80875614. I am trying to find contact information for the relatives of Myrtle Keen Britt (1887-1929) born in Tennessee and died in Warren County, KY. I have Myrtle Keen Britt and William Thomas Britt having the following sons and daughters:
1) Harold Ewing "Slim" Britt (1911 – 1973)
2) Thomas Ruble Britt (1913 – 2010)
3) Horace C Britt (1917 – 1984)
4) Clarence Olline Britt (1919 – 2003)
5) Hugh W Britt (1923 – 1984)
6) Valley Clydrine "Dean" Britt (1926-2001)
Myrtle Keen was the 1/2 sister of my great aunt Annie Christine Keen who just recently passed away.
