Bio and Links
Bio Photo Lots of information about our family was on the verge of being lost, so I began researching both my and my husband's extended families plus families from the small towns we both came from.

Family connections expanded. I received much material for the Dare/Twitty/Baker family from Dare researcher M.Doris Provart Gower, who graciously agreed to my sharing with you. Darnell-Hollaway/ Holloway family got help from Evah Hollaway Lager Picard, Grace Norris Hollaway and Lee Ann Hollaway Bailleu.

The Zahn/Brand/Schneider Kukuck & Voigt family was assisted by Talisman Temple Barbosa, Mary Farley Cummins and David Peipho. The Steinberg/ Koerner family has research from cousins Don & Janet Dickason, Lois Steinberg Adams and Ruth Koerner McCabe.

The extended Martin/Snelling/Shupe family come from my interviews with family members and the research of Terry Harper of Albion, IL, a fellow family member.

The Witt/Hoffman/Franks family has material from Mary Ann Franks O'Neill, Eleanor Hensen Kerber and the website of John Franks.

The Gerken-Helmers (Meyer/Martens, Brandt) family is mostly mine with help of cousins Mary Ann Hill and Eunice Martens Blissard.

Other individuals added information for their extended family. Most of them are credited in their additions. St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, IL has a public website which gave much data for my great-grandfather and those families who lived near my childhood home.

Now I can share what I've found with others and get even more accurate data. I have used the best information I have, but will gladly correct errors and add or subtract material or transfer memorials if requested by someone closer.

Happy family researching!!

RE: Emma Snelling Mayes Brainard
Thanks for your quick reply. I just registered with Find-a-Grave after using it as a visitor for many months, so yours was my first comment.

I just checked the 1990 Supplement to the 1908 Brainerd-Brainard genealogy and found an Emma Mayes! But she didn't marry George Brainard some time after 1924, as you were told. Instead she married Hezekiah Willard Brainard (1864-1935), as his second wife, on Dec. 22, 1930, in Olney, Richland Co., Ill. (not too far from wayne Co.) Hezekiah was the father of George Brainard, b. Aug. 31, 1893, in Flora, Clay Co., Ill.

So you were close! It turns out that this Hezekiah Willard Brainard was the first cousin of the Blanche Emma Brainard who went by the names "Emma" exclusively and died on Dec. 30, 1942, down in Metropolis, Macca Co., where she always lived.

Unfortunately, I do not yet have a death date for Emma Mayes, but she certainly was the widow "Emma Brainard," 60, who lived in Enterprise, Elm River Township, Wayne Co., Ill., in the 1940 census. Her daughter Alta Trotter and don-in-law George Trotter were enumerated with her!

I happen to be working on this very line of the Brainard family for a revision of the genealogy, so I might find out more soon. Your Find-a-Grave memorial tells me who Emma was, which I would have had trouble figuring out, since she married into the Brainerd family under her married name.

Thanks!

RE: Jeanne Pfister
Rosetta I am of no relation but thank you for asking. Would you please change her maiden name - you have Jeanne Veronica Livingston Pfister
Should be Jeanne Veronica Hancock Pfister.
Her fathers name was Hancock, it was her mother's maiden name [Livingston]
Thank you

RE: Beilifelds in Anchor
Hi! Great to hear from you. Here is my 3rd great grandpa's memorial: 115086061. I am writing a second book for the Library of Congress, this one focused on my German ancestors and have spent the last four years collecting materials, many of which have come from Schleswig-Holstein. I would like to upload these items over the next few months. Glad to meet you, do you know pastor Goodwin?

RE: the families related to Franks
You're welcome. It looked like you were ahead of me by several years, but I don't know what happened. I would never knowingly create a duplicate memorial. I met Mary Ann when I went to my uncle's funeral in 2011. Her research of the Franks family is stellar. Take care.

Charles, Ida, and Orville Franks
I noticed that we have duplicate memorials for the subject individuals. I'm not directly related to the Franks (my uncle Robert Benson was married to Ruth Franks Benson), so I have taken my memorials down and will defer to yours. I did take photos of the gravestones when I visited the Fulton cemetery in 2011. If you don't mind I have added them to your memorials and you may have complete rights to them. The photos in findagrave are reduced in size, so let me know if you would like me to email the original full definition photos. By the way, Robert Benson had indicated his wife's middle name was Ione, not Ida. I figure he would know. My regards to Mary Ann O'Neill.

I have transferred both Eva and her son Everett, to you. It appears she died in childbirth. If I find her husbands grave I will enter and transfer to you.
