I enjoy wandering through cemeteries and reading the stones to learn about people who have gone before and see how they are remembered by their loved ones. I think it's important to preserve the stones and the memories of those gone before, and I'm honored to be part of the FindAGrave community to achieve that goal. I use other sites for genealogy, but FindAGrave is useful tool also, keeping in mind the information found in the bio section for a person is not a primary source.
I have researched my Zinn and Rose family histories since the mid 1980s, and I've made many friends while doing so, some of whom are also relatives ;). It amazes me how the characteristics of one generation are passed to the next, and I love learning about the people; not just the dates and places.
Many of the photos I have posted were taken without thought of anyone except me seeing them, not to mention some being taken with a somewhat inferior camera. At that time period, I was simply using them for my personal genealogical information. When I found this site and started adding photos, I hesitated to post some of the pictures because they are not the quality I would prefer. However, using the "they're better than nothing" line of thought, I did post them. I would appreciate photos of better quality being posted. Please contact me and let me know when you've added a good photo so that I can delete my inferior ones.
The disparity in the number of memorials created and memorials managed is the result of a mass transfer of almost an entire cemetery by another FindAGrave contributor.
I strive for accuracy and clarity when I post a memorial, but mistakes sometimes happen; please let me know of errors and I will promptly make corrections.
Nathan D Lane Hi, I am writing to ask your permission to use the photo of Nathan D Lane's grave marker and that of his wife Myrtle L Edwards.
Find A Grave Memorial #17412959 Nathan Donelson Lane Find A Grave Memorial #17412942 Myrtle L Edwards
Thank you and all the Find A Grave volunteers who place pictures as well as family information on this website for the rest of us who find it impossible to travel to these final resting places for our ancestors. You are truly a blessing.
