Laura E Cannon
Hello Faye
My name is Jonathan Merritt and I am friends with a man named Chevis Langston(CC) who is trying to complete his family history.
He is trying to locate information on Laura E Cannon who Married a Langston who died at Gettysburg. what we can not find is after Laura married John Belton Glymph, when did she die and where was she buried. I have discovered that John Belton apparently committed suicide and CC also wants to find his grave as well. Do you have any info on these two folks. I don't find them in the glymph cemetery in pomaria unless they have unmarked graves. If John belton shot himself, he may have been penniless and was not put in the cemetery. I don't know

Hello, Miss Faye!
Had no idea there was someone I knew on the site, let alone someone who's been so active.

I'm an occasional lurker and commenter who's been away from it for a while. My interest has been whetted by moving to a new apartment that's within a stone's throw of three large cemeteries. Maybe I can start adding a few photos to the site.

Wishing you all the best... e-mail me at jlve at live dot com if you're interested in catching up.

I have run into the same problem of not being able to find these "family" cemeteries...I found the burial record under the Nationwide Gravesite Locator for Veterans and their families but the information they give for the whereabouts of the cemetery is very vague. I will do some checking and see what I come up with, otherwise Mr. Alexander may have to stay as a burial unknown, how sad. At the very least you can put the notation of the burial location on the memorial somewhere with the hope that SOMEONE might know where the elusive place is!...(today is my birthday and we have a HUGE weekend ahead of us, so if I don't get back to you for a few days, please don't think I forgot about you!)
Have a great weekend,

Our familes under Lake Murray
I have so many of my family under lake Murray. It almost makes it hard to like the lake at all. Many of the first German families to come to South Carolina in 1750 to 1752 are under water. Mine are and many moved to Arkansas in the 1880's after the war and keeping us connected is a task.
