I was born in Grapeland, Houston County, Texas, parents, Walter Mayo Yates & Ora D. Clark Yates. I'm married, we have five grown children. I guess you would say I am the family genealogist for our family since 2004. Find A grave is a wonderful website. Family history is very important to me.
I hope I add something that will be of interest to others. Our family names include:Yates/Owens/
Denson/Clark/Parker/Chaffin/Williams/Steadman/Overstreet and many more.
For "PHOTOS" that I have added to my memorials, if you copy them, I would like to receive the CREDIT for them - Thanks, Martha Yates Vandver

I am starting to investigate our family the Derryberry. James is a grandson of Louisa Lilly Derryberry. I see James on the 1880 census and his date of death is listed as 1875. Is it possible the actual year of death is actually 1885? Thank you, Kathy

Hello, I was reading the bio on Find a Grave of my great grandmother 3 times removed. Margaret Eakin Brashear married to Samuel Brashear. Her son Isaac is my great great grandfather. I have been researching my Brashears Family for years. Your information about Margaret and her family is most interesting and very helpful. Thank you so much.
I am Judy Davis Cochran. My Mother was Ruth Elizabeth Brashears Davis. Her father Fred's father was Samuel Edgmon Brashears. His father was Isaac Brashears son of Margaret Eakin Brashear. so, you can see how very important this information is to me. Sincerely, Judy Cochran

Hi Martha...I think we have corresponded but, I can't remember. I am a descendant of Shadrach James Denson, brother to your Thomas C. Denson. I have compiled a history/biography of Shadrach J. and his parents, Shadrach and Elizabeth Conner Denson. I'll glady share.
Hope all is going well for you!

Thanks for your reply. I am not as experienced as you are at this, however it has become important to me also because I had a son 3 years ago now and want to leave him with where he came from and all his ancestors that have fought to give him his freedoms. In more research and looking at your profile looks like we are related some how. William Washington Salter was my 1st cousin 5x removed. Not closely but nice to meet you. My personal info is email@example.com (706) 221-7754 and I would love to stay in touch with you. I have lived in Columbus, GA for the past 2 years and before that I lived all over Arizona, but was born and raised in Monroe County, AL. I am always back there now visiting my parents so if I can help you out with pictures or anything please don't hesitate to contact me.
