UPDATED JULY 29th, 2014:|
I was just asked about my sponsored children's virtual cemetery - of COURSE I will add to it, if you have a name to submit...I am just trying to 'partition' off my sponsorships so that you can find children right away, military right away, etc. Technically, just additional virtual cemeteries to my list, but the little heart puts the names into their own 'branch off'. It began with just my sponsorships but as said, I will be happy to add other sponsored children, while trying to get more of the not sponsored picked up. Boy, I hope that's clear, I'm confusing myself! =)
July 28th is the ANGEL DAY for Della Barris; You may recall her name because she was the daughter of game show/television producer Chuck Barris. Della has now found the peace that eluded her during her short time on Earth:
Here are three recent casualties from Afghanistan:
PFC Donnell A. Hamilton, Jr.
Sgt. Shawn M. Farrell
Jason A. McDonald
When daddy's girl sent the link to this little one - a victim of the Holocaust -, I linked over to her page...and her photo took my breath away. People often tell me that they tend not to go to Holocaust virtual cemeteries because they 'seem endless' and that the names blur together, eventually. Look at this angel's photo, and I promise you that you will no longer have the problem of not being able to put a name and face to a madman's whim:
Rozetta Soelamith Ossendrijver
This beautiful little angel has a BIRTHDAY on July 22nd and her ANGEL DAY was July 19th:
Janessa S. 'Nessa' Banks
Site friend Delita has lost her beautiful niece; Delita asked me whether she could post a poem of mine, 'Lady Lupus' on Allison's page to draw attention to this very, very misunderstood illness. I am very honored to know my words may help to draw attention to Allison's struggle, and although I obviously wrote the poem originally about my own health issues, from now on, it's Allison's poem:
Allison Leigh Wisenbaker
This is the memorial page to a HERO who has two tokens - please visit him with prayers and blessings:
Henry Frank Amaker
This is just a really interesting gentleman whose page I found fascinating:
Benjamin 'Flash' Kennedy
I want to thank my friends on this site who visited my mom following her sudden passing....and who continue to visit her. She is looking down and loving the attention! =) I am listing her ANGEL DAY for August 8th, and as always, I appreciate every single visit, token and word of prayer, not only for Mom, but for my other family members:
Anna Jean 'Jeannie' Ricks Poynter
Another HERO brought to my attention by site friends The Houstons:
Private Joseph Michael Houston
Here is yet another voice from the Holocaust; this infant's cry remains long after ignorance and hatred attempted to silence it:
Clara Deborah van Leeuwen
I was asked to keep the link up to my brother Ron's page; THANK YOU for all of your thoughts and prayers for my family members. =) I just put a poem of mine on Ron's page that will tell a bit more about my brother's short time here, if you'd like to read it - it's - as Ron would have said - the cold as Chicago winter wind truth, and he was very brave to live through everything he did. Here is Ron's link:
Ronald Lucien 'Ron' Poynter, Jr.
This young man is a reminder to me personally of the conflict/war; James hometown is a bus transfer and short train ride from my front door:
James Floyd Grissom
This little angel has a BIRTHDAY on July 12th; as far as I know, the homicides of Jennifer and her parents remain unsolved, and you can link to their pages through hers:
Jennifer Renee Short
Bio: My son Gannon and I live in the Bay Area, but we are from Chicago/Jersey/New York; we have traveled extensively in our lives and are only off the road for now due to medical issues - but I sure hope to be able to hit the road again, someday. =) I am widowed, and I write for a living; I am very lucky to be able to work at home and therefore be with Gannon 24/7; he is seriously physically and mentally disabled, and most of my friends on here already know how I feel about Gannon...If I leave anything behind that is good, it will be because Gannon made me a better person. It is an honor to be his mother. We are interested in charity work and support Wounded Warriors, Make A Wish, Toys for Tots, The Huntington's Disease Foundation, The Michael J. Fox Foundation; all programs for poverty and below poverty level families in America; Feed America, Books For Inmates, and more. We also have a soft spot for animal welfare programs, and sincerely believe the quote that "If you want to know a man's true character, study how he treats an animal." Lastly, I hope that my work on here will answer questions, bring reunions and pay tribute to those gone, but not forgotten.
"Pray for the dead, and fight like hell for the living." - MOTHER JONES

Rhonda, Thank you for your response. It is so hard as a parent not to comment on how so much of Della's
passage from childhood through adolescence and young adulthood got mismanaged. a lot of missed opportunities. But in the end della MATTERED. She mattered a lot. Her life had value and meaning despite her addiction. given Mr. Barris description she sounded creative and with potential for the artistic genre.
Again I am just so grateful for your site. I teach substance abuse prevention to middle school children ages 11 onward and I feel parents are always the first line of defense. Thankfully we have a lot of information and specialists out there so addicts and loved ones do not have to navigate it alone.
May you be repayed with endless blessings meaningful to you. della will remain in my consciousness for a very long time. People are more than their addiction or affliction. She was and will always be someone's child.
my best to you,

|LOURDES PEREZ WILLIAMS||THANK YOU RHONDA|
Dear Rhonda, I never knew Della Barris but read her story via her fathers rendition and felt sooo broken with sadness for her. It really depressed me until I found your site. YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!!!!!. Thank you so much for allowing us a place to live her loving thoughts. She mattered as do many others who have passed. Via your site you made a tragic situation more bearable by the mere experience of having a place to leave flowers and loving messages. THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH!!!
|Delita||RE: Hi and Hugs! =)|
Thanks so much. Your poem fits Allison perfectly. Anything you choose to do in her honor would be much appreciated by all of her family. Going now to your page to read your new addition. You have a very optimistic attitude about life and I need some of that to rub off on me. Thanks and love Delita

Yes, l was surprised the photo's arrived so quickly, l've known mail from Spain take a fair bit longer than that.
l'm eagerly looking forward to a couple more pics and yes, l adore Diana Dors. It was so sad when she passed away and even sadder a few months later when husband Alan took his own life because he couldn't live without her, heartbreaking...but sooo romantic! Diana certainly was beautiful in her younger days. My most beautiful women are Maureen O'Hara, Liz Taylor, Olivia De Haviland and of course Diana Dors...sorry but l'm not a Marilyn Monroe fan...if l were a man l might be, haha.
Well l hope you and Gannon have a good weekend.
Hugs from sunny England,

Looking at this toddler's face made me cry all over again. Having their photos makes the horror of it all even more real.
Would you please visit this darling?
|EmilyAnn Frances May||RE: Flash Kennedy|
