I was born in southwestern Minnesota and now live in the Twin Cities. |
My wife introduced me to genealogy in 1998. Since then I've discovered a little Scottish in my otherwise Norwegian and German ancestry.
The cemeteries of Rock County, Minnesota (Maplewood, St. Catherine's Catholic and Memory Gardens also known as Restlawn Memorial Gardens, and Luverne Memorial Gardens) are of particular interest to me.
My goal is to keep families connected to their ancestors through Find A Grave. I will gladly transfer memorials to family members.
Please submit any additions or corrections to me under "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" on the memorial site.

Thank you for the quick response to my suggestion. We can only go by the information we have and you did a great job. Your work is, and will be, greatly appreciated.

Thank you - you are quick!
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU for all the work you have done on findagrave. Not only have you added the memorials, but you have also put in a lot of time and work for each memorial. It is easy to list and individual, but then to research them and link them to the family takes time. Adding headstone photos is no easy task. It is a lot of time and hard work in the sun on your hands and knees, with care and patience. Keep up the work, you are doing a great job. Many may not thank you, but your work is great appreciated by many more than you will ever know. FANTASTIC JOB!!

I would like to offer a correction to your listing if I may. Shirley Mae McGinnis Hughes is the full name of the person attached to memorial 53194666. We had a tough time finding her because of the 'S' missing on her maiden name.
Thanks for your information and photo!

I was looking at Estella Plum's memorial at Maplewood Cemetery that you posted along with the picture of the Rock County Poor Farm. Do you know if there were other graves still there, or how many they moved? Do you know the history of the Rock County Poor Farm?
