Very interested in info on Schomberg family, also photos and info of Albert Galverton Presnall and his wife Mable E. Schomberg. Looking for info behind her family, especially. (other then what I have on my web site for her family). Any info appreciated.
I copied this from Forgetmenot but thought it appropriate:
"We will transfer any memorial, unless they are related & will gladly add obituaries or any other pertinent information. Please feel free to use our photographs for genealogical purposes."
Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

I see your request for a photo on findagrave for Westview Cemetery. I am familiar with that cemetery and would be happy to look for you. Would you please call the cemetery office at 404-755-6611 to find out the section and lot numbers for your request? And please also confirm there is actually a marker. The office is reluctant to give me that information and in fact has threatened to charge me for it. They do however give it easily to relatives. The cemetery is massive and that section/lot information will help me narrow the search.

RE: Keas and Ricks
Sherry, I went to the old section as well. In that section there are 2 marked graves which were marked years later. One is of the founder of Keas and his wife. It was originally marked by a Magnolia tree which came up involuntarily even though Polly Beasley Key had requested one to be planted there. (I loved this story so I had to share it with you). The other marked grave is John Nelson Key and his wife Elizabeth Drake (which is one of my ancestors). Then there are 3 baby unmarked graves. I believe that was all the marked ones.

The new cemetery is the one that had maybe 6 or so adult unmarked graves which looked old, but hard to tell the time period. I am from this area, so I am going to go back at another time and look again, but I am afraid I will have little luck. I hope I do.

Do you think it is possible they were buried in the old cemetery? If so, I can take a full view photo of it for you.

RE: Nancy Johnson
Thank You, Sherry.

I've linked her two children, Wallace C (my G-grandfather) and Emma Jane Johnson Epperson.

Hopefully all my "lost" cousins will find the additional info helpful and interesting.

Mark Johnson.

James Marshum Queen
I have several dozen pages of text as well as dozens of records regarding James Queen and his brothers during the civil war. I will consult the records regarding his exact place of birth. He was not born in Danville, KY, where his memorial states. I will get back to you when I have more information.

RE: James J. Barwick
HI, thank you so much. James died in the Civil War and as yet have not found where he is buried. He died of disease in VA. Maybe one day some one will post more records and I will find him.
