Roth/Rick families
I'm not related to either this Roth or Rick, was doing research on another matter and Roth was involved. Glad to help out, I think that's what F-A-G is meant for. Thank you for being gracious. Not all submitters appreciate information that contradicts what they have posted, even if you give them primary source documented proof.

Philip Roth Memorial# 25105582
I located an obituary for Philip Roth that was published in the Reading Adler, in 1861. It was in German, but very easy to translate.

Reading Adler, Reading, PA
Tuesday, November 26, 1861
Issue: 3387 Page: 2

Translation: In Center, on 19 Nov., Philip Roth,
age 69 years 5 months and 3 days

This death date was confirmed by the estate file of Philip Roth, filed by his two sons Peter and Jared in Berks County, on December 31, 1861, copied in Vol. 9 R p. 138. In this estate file Philip left to survive him a widow Mary (Maria), sons: Peter Roth, Jared Roth, living daughters: Elizabeth Schoch; Caroline Schroeder & children; Sarah Roth (unmarried); Harriet Pliess; Esther Roth (unmarried) and deceased daughters; Rebecca Werner and Catharine Roth w/o Daniel Roth.

Maria Magdelena Roth & Philip Roth
Researching the Philip Roth Family, I noticed you have submitted memorials for both Philip and his wife Maria Magdalena (Rick) Roth. Maria Magdalena is Memorial #17029840 and Philip is Memorial # 25105582. I also noted that according to their memorials they were both born on July 24, 1799 and both died on may 27, 1875. This is a very odd coincidence that they would be born on the same day and die on the same day. Is this correct?

RE: William N Combs
Hi! I'm not related. I had "spoken" to you around Aug/Sept of last year about finding the location of William's grave in CHC so I could fill your photo request. I was just going through some files and noticed that there was no DOB for him and suggested the correction after verifying his info through the SSDI. I wish I could be more help. Sorry!

RE: Edith Hartnell Smith
Distant relative. 2nd cousin 2x removed. Her grandfather, Frank Hartnell, and my gg-grandfather were brothers. I'm tracing all descendants for 3 children born in 1690's in Dorset, England. It's amazing where I find them, including Newfoundland, Ontario, British Columbia, New Zealand, Brazil, and all across the US.

Horace Degler
Thanks so much for the edits. I found Horace and Harold's death certificates on Ancestry listing my Great Grandparents as their parents. The infants were twins and both succumbed to cholera. I verified it with my Aunt as well. Helen and Thomas also had a stillborn infant. His death certificate states he is buried at Belleman's as well, but I could not find his grave either. If you need any more info, please let me know. Thanks again!
