James Weight
I am descended from James Weight. I was wondering what the source was for him being buried at this cemetery? (Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.) He was not in the military. He came from England and was on his way to Utah and died enroute. Would appreciate learning more about this. Thanks, Susan

There is a link on the memorial for a Mary Adams listed as sibling. In 1870 census, there was such a person in the household, but there is no listing for such a person in 1850 or in 1860 - so I'm thinking that this Mary was NOT actually a child of Walter Anderson Chapman and Louise Saunders. The child would have shown up in the former census records. The only person close to the right age is Margaret, but she has a different married name.

RE: Jackson Bridges birth year
He was originally buried in Arsenal Island Cemetery, Saint Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri then he was moved to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri. His Memorial # is 106348448 (Lemay) and 85992611 (Arsenal Island).

RE: Jackson Bridges birth year
My Jackson Bridges married a Rebecca McReynolds and fought for the Union in for Iowa. He died Jan. 3, 1864 from disease in Missouri. He enlisted with his son Edmond Green Bridges, who also dies in 1864. The 1840, 1850, and 1860 U.S. Census records place his date of birth around 1815. I found an extensive application from his wife (widow) on fold3.com to claim the benefits from his service during the Civil War.

Hi Carole, thanks for posting a picture of my great-grandfather and great-grandmother's headstone. I was wondering if you would be willing to link his son's findagrave headstone to his account. I can send you some additional info to round out his findagrave memorial. If willing you can email me at airhops@hotmail.com

Thank you!

Oh yes, you can email me at the kiyakgirl address. And I assure you I will keep an eye out for that headstone.......not that I am at the cemetery every day, but I will stop by and take a look once in awhile.
