Bio Photo I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestowne Society, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the National Huguenot Society, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. I just love researching family histories. I taught Jr. High English in the public schools for fourteen years. I was an Elementary Counselor and a librarian for fifteen years.

I would love your contributions to the pages I've added. I especially want pictures of the people I have listed here. I am taking pictures of all the tombstones in my area in order to preserve family histories for future generations, especially those who wish to join DAR and other societies. I want to honor these people and truly wish for them to be "Gone but Not Forgotten." I want to create a page for each person with pictures and biographical information. My DAR webpage is at

RE: Merell Cemetery
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the beautiful job you did cleaning up the Merell cemetery.

I have a question for you unrelated. My family has moved to Ohio. I do not see where you can update your home address, except on their google map which mine shows Farmington, MO. Do you happen to know how to update physical address or anyone who may read this? It will allow me to type in my new zip code but will not accept it as a new location for me. I looked at their frequent questions but could not locate the answer.

Happy holidays,

Tree Leaf
Well, hello, cousin!

In honor of Thanksgiving, coming up, I was revisiting the earlier parts of my main tree. This is a section I do not revisit often because I feel out on a limb with it.

However I am fairly sure that Samuel Eddy (1608 - 1687) is my 10th great grandfather.

Your page says that he is your ancestor, so that makes us some type of distant cousins.

I read your biography section with interest. Thank you for all the work you do and share.

RE: Myrtle Watson Blankenship
I have searched for this lady. I could find no obituary for her. I believe she lived in Sunnyside, Wash when she passed away.
I did copy this from a new item in the Herald noting her passing: Last week this neighborhood was sorry to hear that Mrs. Myrtle Blankenship had died, out on the west coast. She was the wife of Everett Blankenship, one of the Solo Blankenship brothers. And she was the sister of Herbert Watson.
Herbert Harrison Watson 70436110
I also found an obituary for her husband:

Everett F. Blankenship # 3337024
A former resident of Texas County, Everett Franklin Blankenship died Jan. 7, 1985 at the Aspen Care Nursing Home in Westminster, Colo. Mr. Blankenship, 87, had made his home in Denver, Colo., since the death of his wife in 1975. He was married to Myrtle Watson Aug. 3, 1918 in Houston. The couple had one daughter. Following his discharge from the Army in 1919, the couple lived at Solo for five years before moving to Des Moines, Iowa. In Iowa, he was a motorman on a street car for nine years and a policeman for a year. They returned to Solo in 1931. They moved to Booneville in 1954 where he taught woodworking at the Missouri State Training School. Following his retirement, they moved to Sunny side, Wash. Born March 23, 1897, the son of George Richard and Laura Rosalee Steele Blankenship, he spent the early years of his life at Solo. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Solo and the Odd Fellows Lodge and World War I Barracks in Sunnyside, Wash. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Vera Nowak of Denver, Colo.; two granddaughters, one great-grandson; one brother, Jim Blankenship of Solo and two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Beard and Mrs. Eva Walcott of Houston. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, one sister and four brothers. Interment, following cremation , was in the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo. From the Houston Herald 01/31/1985

Thank you for the transfers. I have now got all of my aunts and uncles linked with parents. In my mind they are now close together again. Peggy
