In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage, to know who we are, and where we have come from.

Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning, no matter what our attainments in life; there is a most disquieting loneliness.

~Alex Haley~

The photo on my profile page is me sitting at the former tomb of Josie Arlington (the brothel madam) at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans Louisiana. We spent hours walking around the cemetery.

Received my DNA results from Ancestry and 23 and Me.

MISSION STATEMENT: To share genealogical information in the hopes of making other members of our family as obsessed with the lives of our ancestors as we have become.

I was born and raised in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington; now living in Oklahoma City. I am the 5th child of seven born to Dorothy née Lester. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Funeral Service with a minor in natural science from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. I spent many years employed as a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. After a career change; I finally retired from the Department of Human Service, and now have time to search ancestors. I believe when searching ancestors it is important to follow them from birth to their final resting place. I am a photo volunteer for FAG.

Family Historian My sister, Alice spent many years researching, documenting dates, places, photos, and events of our large family members and branches of; Lester, Long, Vinall, Turrell, Hart, Keck, Warren, Kane, Madden, Blessing and her Sampair family. She is our Family Historian for over 40 years.

Thank You! My sincere appreciate and thank you to the FAG Photo Volunteers; who took time out of their day, to help a total stranger fulfill my photo request.

Addicted Genealogist You know you're an Addicted Genealogist when you hyperventilate at the sight of an old cemetery, if you'd rather browse in a cemetery than a shopping mall and if you'd rather read census schedules than a good book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm a Cemetery Enthusiast.
