My name is Michelle Renee "Shelley" (Latey) Broyles. I am the mother of three children and Oma of three. I graduated from The University of Kansas in May with degrees in Applied Behavioral Science and Psychology. I have been researching my family for 18+ years and put as much time as I can into the hobby. My husband, Dan, jokes that my idea of a good vacation is being in a cemetery, which isn't far from the truth. Everywhere I travel I try to stop and take pictures of cemeteries in hopes that someone will be helped in finding family members. I live in Johnson Co., Kansas, so if I can be of help please contact me and let me know. Happy hunting everyone! ________________________________
I get a lot of requests. Please be as patient as you can. I promise I will get to them. I am not hard-nosed as some contributors are and will be happy to transfer memorials if they are in your family lines and not mine (LATEY-FOX or BROYLES-LONG lines). Also, when communicating remember that "you get more with honey than with vinegar." Thank you everyone!
OH, one more thing, I have the sexton records for the Olathe Cemetery up to, I believe, 2006. I have yet to get them all up. I have taken all the photographs of tombstones if there is one. I am still working on getting all of those up. Let me know if you are wondering about someone and I will look them up for you.
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE A REQUEST FOR A TRANSFER OR MEMORIAL CORRECTION DO IT FROM THE MEMORIAL **DON'T PLACE IT IN MY MESSAGES**
Only leave messages if you are thanking me, or are, or think you are, related. As I go through my messages I delete them, so that I know that I have responded or read them. Please know that I see and appreciate every one of them! :) --------------------------------------------
**** Sometimes life happens, and it is happening to me right now. I am having some very serious health issues that may result in brain surgery.
Please be as patient as you can. I know some of you have been waiting months for a response. I am not ignoring you. I am starting to work through some 500+ requests now.
I see that some of you have gone through administration, which is fine, but please don't be threatening, or passive aggressive. I am a real person, with real feelings, and with a real life. I am not retired and don't have a lot of time on my hands. I love this work and love you all for the wonderful work you are doing.****
Memorial# 22564039 Newspaper story about Bert -- https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=G_4gAAAAIBAJ&sjid=snUFAAAAIBAJ&pg=3136%2C2186546 --- I am not part of the family or tree; I just saw the item in the newspaper.
cousin Hi, Shelley Would you happen to be related to any of the Broyles and the Bells from Greene County, Tenn? I've seen your name on a few of their memorials. I'm a distant cousin of the Bells there, and therefore some of the Broyles, too.
Find a grave photo Hello Shelley, I would like permission to download the photo you took of Laura (Couch) Barton and J.E. Barton's grave marker at Rosedale Cemetery for my personal file, full credit to you of course. I would also like permission for any other photo of my family that you also took that I might find. I will use these photos in my personal genealogy database and to share with family members. Thank you for all that you do, Linda Futrell Rogers
Thanks for your work documenting my stepmom's family. I have been helping with her genealogy and find the Bolton's an interesting bunch.
I have a suggestion for you. In order to make identifying the triplets easier perhaps we could add written numbers to their names like: Infant One, Infant Two, Infant Three, or Triplet One, Triplet Two, Triplet Three.
I am working on documenting all of my FindaGrave research using Ancestry and it is very difficult to tell which Find A Grave # goes with which name when the names are the same and the dates are so similar. I think there is also an extra Find A Grave record there that I would like to combine with one of them.
Outdated Photo Hello,I was doing some editing for memorial # 98450214.The photo you furnished years ago is not accurate. Also the Cemetery has changed names now.Could you delete that photo on his memorial page so as we go forward we can update his page. The cemetery is now known as Terrace Park Cemetery. Thank you, Richard
