I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. My husband Johnny and I moved to the Texas Hill Country in 1986. We lived in Kingsland (Llano County) and Burnet County. In 2002 we moved north of Houston to Montgomery County. I have been so fortunate to have been living in the areas of Texas where many of my ancestors also lived. |
Some of my ancestral surnames are:
Thomasson (TN & TX)
Ripley (TN & TX)
Blassingame (TX, MS, SC)

Great, thanks for the info!
|Kerry Steiner||Joshua Seale Memorial# 7068404|
Just a quick question about Joshua's year of birth if I may. I see the headstone says he was born in 1775 (per the census) but the memorial says 1765. A 10 year difference is somewhat significant so I'm wondering as his descendent if can tell me which one is closer?

Since he died in San Francisco, it's probable he was buried in Colma, just south of there. San Francisco has had no active cemeteries since the late 1800's and Colma is where most people from there are interred. I found a grave of my great aunt's there after calling numerous cemeteries in that town.

Thanks so much Lisa,
I sent you an email. I have found lots of records you have put together.
Have you ever been to Comanche? I remember most every summer up until 1986 (was the last one I went to) going to my Grandmothers family (Ripley) reuniun. I was held outside of Comanche. Just wondering if you ever attended one?
I always consider Comanche like my hometown.
Thanks so much for bringing back so many memories.

Thanks LisaBee for all your work. John Ripley would be my Great Grandfather (I believe). My Grandmother is not listed as a child for him. Her name was Audie Ripley-Green. She would have been the youngest child of John and Sarah Caroline Ripley. Kelley Green~albright

No, just curious of your connection. Ms Mattie was my 1st cousin 2x removed and I am always interested in connections.
What would be your connection to Mattie Elizabeth "Canter" Perry ? She is a 1st cousin 2x removed to me.
